Spenser for Javier is a good thing. Javier was simply not viable, but it would have been very difficult to bench him. Let’s hope the strain is real and was affecting his performance. Taking out one mediocre outfielder could be a good thing also if it forces more time for Yordan in LF and therefore our best lineup more often.
Interesting that Diaz isn’t starting with tomorrow being a night game. I wonder if he’s hurt or under the weather. Or maybe Joe has seen enough.
I think that Meyers hurt in April can be spun as a positive because he's a known quantity and this provides an additional starting spot for one of the young guys to develop with plenty of time to reacclimate Jake if needed. As for Javier, this could end up being a nightmare. If he had stayed healthy, then by June he would be a known quantity, for better or worse. Now when/if he returns, that won't be known until we'll after the ASB at the earliest. Silver lining, there is a world where when they are planning the trade deadline this team can add Brown, Javier, Blanco, and Wesneski. (and Hader +Sousa if they are super super conservative)
I have watched at least an inning of every Astros game this season. The streak ends tonight by choice. 6-7 is ****.
A team with great pitching and terrible offense vs a team with terrible pitching and great offense. Exciting stuff
Seems like everything that could wrong is going wrong. Looks like we solved mariners inability to score by giving away runs.
these pitchers can't throw strikes marines don't even need to lift the bat off their shoulders. they're not even getting good contact
