Jalen willingly avoided any sort of organized hoops his entire life. He’ll play a decade in the league, but his legacy would have been WAY different if he had gone to college.
For what exactly? I agree with the sentiment, but he's mid-contract. Who the **** wants to trade anything of value for that bum? Phx are r****ded to have actually given us KD for Jalen.
Wow I looked at his metrics and he really took a step back this year and is probably having a career worst year. Wonder how much is him being injured and in/out of the lineup so much, or did he really peak his 4th season?
He's an incredibly talented, mentally weak NBA player....which are a dime a dozen. Look at his career and his personal life. Passive, babymomma is a standin for his momma. Getting traded devastated his confidence, although really it should have bolstered it given that he was the main piece in a swap for a very high performing top 20 player ever. Sweet guy, but doesn't have that fire. Just wants to smoke weed, listen to Bob Marley and cuddle. Can't be hungry if you're full. There's always a chance he reaches that all-star level with the right coaching staff, but there are hungry guys everywhere in this league. He'll probably be a bench player in a few years and given his talent will probably still be riding pine for a few mil a year in ten years. Not a terrible way to get rich.
He's not really as talented as people think. He has a great first step and that's about it. Once he beats his man he doesn't have the handle to get around the help on his drives. That leads to many of his layups being circus shots because he has to jump too early. So, he needs a straight line drive. He doesn't need coaching he needs training in skills he should have picked up when he was younger.
He is still young but to me that ceiling was mostly limited to low IQ decisions on and off the court. As you said, the mental drive is still important and will determine his future fate in this league. In the meantime, enjoy his Vince Carter, Kobe and Wade like Highlights lowlights y'all!!!!
55 TS% actually exceeds his average. Booker was having a subpar game. He had to step up. His 3pt shooting is still pretty bad for a high volume scorer.
Agreed. And if your best player is scoring at volume with that efficiency you probably aren’t a very good team.
