nah hemingway isn't a hater tbh. I don't think there are a lot of Reed haters, what we have are some people like @kjayp that will rationalize everything udoka said and does. He literally tried to say holiday and okogie were more efficiency/better offensive players than sheppard (he's just learning statistics so bless his heart)

To avoid Udoka getting any blame they will often reinforce his decisions with "oh its matchups", "it doesn't matter we lost to a 7th seed"

 

I hope Sengun finds his mojo, as it has been gone for a while.

Reed may turn out to be great, he might turn out to be a good rotation player like I predict, but predicting something less than generational perennial all-star and someone to build around is not hate, it’s just an subjective opinion based on what I have observed. It's ridiculous because nobody believes dumb statements like he might be a good rotational piece one day. It's so separated from reality to the point of parody. Also Amen and Reed need to play together because they compliment each other perfectly. If he wants to see Amen maximized then he should want Reed out there with him. Those two should be tge backcourt going forward It's not an either or.

Just because their minutes together have been bad this year, doesn't mean they're permanently going to have these +/- splits for their careers. Sengun played much superior defense last year than this year, and a lot of his decline in defensive performance this year had to do with his chronic injuries. Next year he'll be back to being at least competent when pulled out to an iso assignment on the perimeter, the way he was in 2024-2025.

And Reed likewise will continue to get much better on defense, because there's only one way he can go! He'll have FVV to show him the ropes, and he's a bright kid, even if his wingspan will not be increasing any.

I like Reed... if i was building a new team and had to start w Reed, Okogie or Holiday - obviously id go w Reed... obviously.

if we are down 3 with 5 seconds left... damn right i want Reed on the floor - probably Holiday too... Amen would be on the bench...

If we are down 1 with 5 seconds left... Id prob go with Amen (highest fg% on the team) over Reed or Holiday... and hope for a dunk over a shot from distance...

If we are down 20... fk yea, let Reed and Holiday (and KD) fire away...

but TYPICALLY playing alongside KD and Sengun... guys like Okogie or Holiday can be just as effective, given the LIMITED offensive needs in those situations...

Once again... Reed needs volume shots to offset his defensive liabilities... if Reed is playing d for 10 possessions and only getting 2 shots - that is not a good split for us... having him on the floor with Clint and better defenders, while Reed is getting off shots half the time down court - beautiful!

If I was just trying to rag on Reed, then I would be posting career stats and not just the current year... but i realize that can be disingenuous given current trends - so i didnt...
