Btw Sixers have 2 dynamic guards and PG13. Udoka countered maxey with okogie and put Amen on PG. edgecomb is a tough strong combo guard and put KD on him. Considering Sheppard’s history of having issues with guards like Podz, that was the decision and it worked and the team won.

The team was winning because of the changes. For over 20 games in a row, opposing teams figured out Josh out there and just collapsed on senguin and Durant. That’s why we had to yank him.

it wasn’t until Sheppard was out there we spread the floor and these guys got hot , freedom to move. Now we’ve played dogschit teams missing players towards the end of the season and Udoka wants to change it up again.

Sheppard is a developmental player. They are playing him to develop him and the playoffs are nothing to mess around with. A couple poor decisions on defense or passing means multiple points the other way and possibly ball game.

Yeah it's pretty clear Udoka is playing the matchups game. When teams start a stronger backcourt--in this case, Maxey and Edgecombe--Reed doesn't get to play as much, and will normally come off the bench.

Love him or hate him, and I have not been a fan of his coaching this season, there is a method to Ime's madness when it comes to RS.

 

Yall overreact to Ime's treatment of Reed. He'll play if he isnt a zero on defense. He does a lot on offense, Ime knows that.

What I find interesting is that he isn’t making a big deal about it as he shouldn’t. That’s what good players and teammates do. If he cried foul like these people and be a bi+ch whining and complaining about playing time then what does that make him? What does that make any player who does this? Rockets were -12 without Holiday in the 4th last night and played the game even with him. I think it is quite obvious that Holiday has fit with the starters better than Reed. I also think Holiday has played much better with Reed than I expected, provided Sengun is off the court.

Holiday should play more, despite it being a vastly unpopular opinion, and it should not affect Reed's minutes.

Regarding the playoffs, I think Reed and Sengun have to be staggered. If Reed loses minutes in the playoffs, it will likely be because of Sengun getting a ton of minutes. It is not Holiday's fault that Reed and Sengun have not figured out how to play together.
