Is this a joke? Maybe they can do it in front of Congress with Bibi pinning it on him while many of the Congress persons stand and cheer for Bibi.

    That's great.

Let's turn this into another 9-11 terrorism scenario where we now have to worry about domestic terrorist attacks.

It very much feels like this administration wants the USA people to live in a constant state of fear and preparing for war.

We have this administration acting aggressive just to be aggressive -- they have even threatened the Pope.

I occasionally watch Fox. If anything they outdo the Dems in the sheer number of black and Latino news readers. Still a bit behind in Muslim and LBTQ+, but it will be coming. An additional demonstration of the futility of identity politics alone. Class matters and pleasing the donor class is a dead end for the Dems.

I always remeber Glenn Greenwald saying about 25 years ago , before Obama, that the US will elect a black, a woman and a gay president before a progressiveone.

lol It is weird. Did Hitler and Stalin ever provide as much dark humor entertainment? Add Bibi to that class, but he is not as entertaining as Trump.

"Why question when we know the purpose of the farmer and the common folk. Know your family, know your land and avoid education. These teachers and those with idle thought are parasites that pervert your natural harmony. They must be killed so that you can live. This is pervasive. Those that wear glasses lack purpose, those with soft hands from reading steal from your basket. What purpose does speaking a foreign tongue serve? You need not concern yourself with thought or decisions, you are free in nature and free again to live off the land in harmony. We will make the decisions, we will eliminate the parasites that steal from your bowl while you sleep." - Pol Pot

I can't see any scenario where the US people win.

History shows that it will not be as simple as cutting defense budgets and avoiding war.

The reality is that we will likely see an escalation in spending for defense and we will see ever increasing paranoia, coupled with a decrease in US power and wealth that will disproportionately impact the poor and middle class. The ultra wealthy will do as they did during the Great Recession, buy the homes and assets of the middle class, and eventually the upper middle class. Send people to the grave without ownership of anything and prevent any real threats to the ruling class.

Perhaps if there are enough terrorist attacks inside the USA - the lower and middle class can be weaned into the military where they can do the bidding of the wealthy at lost cost, and they can be indoctrinated for life.

It is a lot easier to exploit a populous when you have them in constant fear of an outsider.... be that Iran or China, or liberals or women... anything to distract.

    Man

1- Getting closer to Japanese encampment
2- Yesterday, it was for the Iranian people. Today, if you are Iranian, get out of here

And lol, that's some poor MKT PR BS. These guys can't even do MKT BS well.

The decision probably looks something like this: ChatGPT, analyze the posts of all Iranians in the US for anti-Trump and/or pro-Iranian content. Then revoke visas and green cards based on ChatGPT's answers. This will probably end up revoking the status of some Iranians who fled Iran due to political persecution, which would be another gift for the Iranian regime.

As a leftist I view the US as the principle source of terrorism in the world.

As an aware leftist I think it is clear that the US with some aid from Western Europe are the biggest killers in the world. The internationally renown medical Journal the Lancet puts the death toll from our sanctions at 38 million since around 1970. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(25)00189-5/fulltext

Yet, it is humiliating as an American to have Trump represent America to the world. When comtemplating our next overseas trip I keep thinking I should always wear an anti-Tump t-shirt. Folks I know who travel abroad little are now sort of afraid that they will be hated just for being Americans. Fortunately we have not quite reached the level of the genocidal Israelis who are increasingly encountering this.

Unfortunately, the depletion of arms means that the baseline is more defense budget, even if no more wars.

It's real. This is how you manipulate a man that's so easy to manipulate.

Tepid carefully nuanced moderate appeals (updating their messaging some") to the donor class will not suffice. Perhaps in 10 to 20 years as the lower 80% finally explode as all the money keeps trickling up.

@RB713 is it still the case that you haven't met one Iranian in America who is against this war?

    Early view was 2/28-3/5

Mid-war view was ~2 weeks ago (3/24-27), before Trump threatened to end Iranian civilization

Don't trust these surveys at all. Go see the protests, online posts. I have many Persian friends, and I talk to them daily. They are not happy about the ceasefire.

Persians that don't support the war are islamic, regime followers. Wealthy ppl who are funded or have businesses in Iran.

I doubt he hates Islam. too abstract for his congenitally disabled sociopathic brain. He loves Islam if he thinks he can make more money on it than claiming to be Christian-- again another abstraction exceeding his childish level of moral development.

I often think of Trump. In court I heard a judge ask a say 6 to 7 year old witness : "Johnny do you know the difference between a lie and the truth?"
DJT does not. Anybody remember the stages of moral development from psychology class.

Even if you don't trust the data, the trend isn't fake.

But OooooK. I take this response like all the others similar to it: don't trust data when it goes against my personal instincts and personal anecdotal and online observations, which are 1000x more trustworthy.

I don't trust surveys from CNN or Fox. Or wherever it came from, someone is always pushing one agenda. I am telling you from actual ppl I am around, my business partner is from Iran. He has been here since the 80s, I will follow him and many more friends stories over anything you guys have to say.

That is a selection bias, I have family members that are Persian.

the people that left were shah supporters by default (the person placed in power to subvert democracy in Iran)

there is nothing Iranian about some of those folks, just stories their parents told them. Some are crazy and want Iran nuked but even then the majority now see this war as stupid. The opinion of 90 million Iranian people is more important than several thousand disconnected people that have never been to Iran or know anything about it.
