Advanced Analytics are so ****ing stupid lol Can someone let the NBA know to actually count the Curry 3 that Jabari contested? He has a negative Box Plus Minus and surely that ball went in we were all just misinformed.
BPM is not an advanced stat. That said, most of the advanced stats take time to become accurate, such that guarding Curry for 2 seconds before Amen came to help would not significantly change most advanced stats. Jabari making what seemed like every shot that game was likely a bigger effect to most advanced stats.
Yea, I am not trading him. He can work even more on this game this off season. Sky is the limit for the kid if he puts in the work.
Loved his shot distribution. J keep saying j do t care about the percentage but I want Jabari to attempt at least 8 3’s a game but preferably really 10. He shot 13 last night and made 5. Ill take that every game.
Yeah I said I now prefer him over Banchero. Everybody can’t be a star. But I like the role he’s settled into and he doesn’t do more than he’s incapable of. He’s not putting the ball on the floor recklessly anymore . He’s starting to understand and accept his limitations.
Bari isn’t gonna meet my minimum 3pt efficiency for him this season, which was 37%. But he will shoot his career high in 3pt efficiency on his most attempts. Which means he is improving. It’s less than I hoped for but he’s obviously gonna continue to get better. Meh. At least he’s on a reasonable contract. I’m predicting a good playoff series for Bari. Good kid. Would love to see him put on even more strength, adopt a more physical and nasty mind-set and play more center. Could be a truly unique asset in that role. But I’m not sure if the mentality is there for that.
Jabari's on his way to becoming a lot better than many of y'all thought. He'll be a solid starter here for the next decade plus. Better than a "role player" though... *A solid 20 & 10 guy that shoots it at 40% + w/volume from downtown...who plays big D. And, performs well in the Playoffs. Dude's gonna be a leader.
he’s a slightly above league average shooter in yr 4. Certainly not what we hoped but not bad. The definition of a role player IMO.
Brother 20/10/40% 3/+D is a perennial all-nba player. That would be amazing. That might be his actual value to this team but I don’t think he’ll get recognized for it by the masses akin to Derrick White. Check out the lineup profiles below. -Remove Bari from basically any 5-man Rockets lineup and we become the Wizards on defense (+12.4 WTF!) -Remove KDF, keep core-4, offensive rating improves significantly (+6.7), defense improves marginally (-1.1). -Remove Sengun, keep core-3 + KDF, offensive rating improves significantly (+8.3), defense ~ unchanged. -This core-4 + KDF lineup is a net negative in 252 mins (-5.5) but remove any of 3eed, KDF, Sengun and we improve significantly. Jabari has like reverse engineered KenPom for +/- b/c he's just a ****ing G on all these +/- lineup stats this year and KDF/Sengun are hilariously polar opposite. I love it when Bari plays well. I love it when Bari plays the right way even when he doesn't play well. But the stats behind the scenes seem to suggest he's a Derrick White-esque engine both offensively and defensively. 40 mpg in the playoffs here we come! Also, it's pretty incredible w/ how rudderless our offense looks at times w/out KDF or Alpi, that for this set of lineups we materially better on offense w/out either. Eye-test fail.
Like Tari, he has also seemed to be making better, quicker decisions out there. He's removed the extra dribble or two when he drives, so he either shoots, passes, or dribbles once and pull up. This is important because he was pretty wishy washy mid season as the help whenever KD or Sengun were getting trapped or blitzed. He is still both good and frustrating on defense, mostly because he'll forget an assignment or get caught out of position.
If you take away that horrible month of Janet where he had that terrible shooting slump, he’s shootng 39% from 3. hes shooting 37 right now so he wasn’t off by much but that terrible slump he had dropped his efficiency.
He’s slow laterally. When he has to guard skilled perimeter wings, they usually can get by him at ease. He’s a good team defender , but an average at best one on one defender
Hitting the side of the backboard. A couple of 0-12 games and 40 minutes per game. Yeah, Dickerson had every right to be pissed. Now he's giving us Jalen Green tour dates and everyone is excited for the 5th year potential
Jalen Green is a career 34% 3pt shooter, never shoots over 35% in any season. And no, Jabari never had a 0-12 games, let alone "a couple of" them. If you want to diss a guy, at least use some facts.
Jabari is a solid player. Im not sure you want solid at #3, but thats what we got. I mean if Wemby wasn't in the same draft, people would be gushing over Thompson. The fact the Rockets were terrible all those yrs and didn't get an all nba player out of any of those pics
He’ll be a solid NBA starter but not good enough for a team like ours. We’re a more evenly distributed team like the Celtics championship team so each starter has to be excellent rather than just good enough to be a starter. If he were playing with a Jokic or SGA, I can see his fit but on our dynamic team we can’t really have limited starters like that. Another issue is that he’s redundant with KD. Plays the same position (PF) and we’re having to play Bari out of position on guys that can just blow past him with speed despite his effort and hard work. I don’t have a bad thing to say about him. Good player regardless of where we picked him, but barring an exceptional playoff performance or upgrading one of Amen/Sengun I hope that he’s a trade chip this summer.
March and April Jabari have been a nice surprise, I feel he is paid the right amount, time will tell......
He seems to be a tangible player mostly when his shot is on while his intangibles are not really out of this world.
