Astros lead MLB in walks with 70. A’s are 2nd with 62.

70 walks in 13 games is over 5 walks per game.

They've turned opposing offenses into the Astros Offense, Astros lead the majors in walks drawn as well.

Framber has given up 1 run in two starts so far, they paid the wrong Dominican pitcher.

Wonder if that Sox series is going to be like the Dodgers last year - the high point of the season followed by a collapse.

Abreu is a gas can in a blowout game.

1 run game in back to back games at Colorado is pathetic but utgrad already mentioned it.

Even after this terrible week, it's still a huge wonder.

If the Astros have injuries like last year, then injuries will be the biggest blame -- just like last year.

Brutal. Losing Hunter Brown was just something Houston could not afford.

Well, the only fun part of that game was seeing Julia showing off that 1 lb hotdog.

Today's game was hard to stomach with such horrible pitching. What's frustrating about this series is that we had 24 hits to their 22 hits and 3 less strikeouts. The walks are what hurt us. Our pitchers walked 15 of their players and they only walked 6 this series. Watching us walk 9 guys today was gross. Our pitchers were just plain terrible.

    Final projected record this season:

    74-88

Potentially dead last in the AL West, but that remains to be seen.

My thoughts a few days ago were what is going to happen when this offense gets in a funk? We certainly aren't going to average 6+ runs a game, not even close. My answer was we would be staring at an 8 or 9 game losing streak. Many other 4 or 5 game losing streaks as well before season's end.

And here we are possibly in the midst of an incredibly ugly protracted losing streak.

Seattle may get the boost they desperately need to their season in these next 4 games.

Tragically my prediction of the bottom falling out by the end of 2026 appears to be coming true. That's what you get when you "settle" for a manager from a GM who probably shouldn't be running the show for any MLB team, much less the Astros who were coming off a World Series title.

If? Brother we already lost Hunter. Hader and Sousa being out have played a large part in this ass bullpen of ours. Who knows when they will be back. Now Meyers and Javier are out too, although Javier isn’t much of a loss. Burrows has been incredibly disappointing so far. Who knows how long LMJ is going to stay healthy and what he is going to give us moving forward.

As Snake said, they couldn’t afford to lose Hunter.

Edit: Oh and can’t forget about Abreu. Everyone here acting like he just can’t pitch in the 9th but once again was ass today. The guy has pitched in some of the most pressure situations in the playoffs and excelled. There’s no way you’re going to convince me he can’t handle the 5 run and 3 run leads he had his first two appearances because “he can’t pitch in the 9th”. Honestly I’m not convinced he’s healthy. His velocity was once again down today.

Yep, Pearson too. Astros have 8 pitchers on the IL. I know they already knew 3 of them would be out as early as last year but still. I'm starting to think that unless a guy is an established ToR SP, anyone who has TJS should be immediately DFA. What are the odds Houston gets anything whatsoever out of Walter, Wesneski, or Blanco next year (or ever)? About the same as what they ended up getting from Urquidy, Garcia, Javier, and Lance after their surgeries. A whole lot of nothing other than disappointment.

Bring back Luhnow and start a new dynasty. By the time the rebuild is over, the new rules will prevent the Dodgers from buying rings anyway.

    Yes. If.

This just shows how bad the injuries were last year. Yordan played 10 games healthy. Fourteen starting pitchers used. Hader injured last too. I'm not saying the Astros aren't trending their way to more Guiness record suck luck, but we're not there yet. Arrighetti is right around the corner. Need him to perform. I'm not convinced these pitching coaches lost all skill over one single offseason. They have earned more credit than that.

Highly doubt either of those things happen but especially a salary cap.

People seriously overreact to small sample sizes. Framber gave up 8 runs today and AL Central favorite Detroit is likely to be 4-8. AL West favorite Seattle is 4-9.
