Once again, the question is asked if California is doing so great, why are Californians leaving paradise in droves and why do they call Newscum governor U-Haul?

 

You say the same things about him over and over with great confidence. Have you ever met him? Are you just basing an opinion by seeing little edited videos of him via news outlets or social media? Not judging, just asking. As you know, I have met him. I don't love him or hate him. He's just a guy, another politician.

I don't think he would do grift anywhere near the level we're seeing currently, enriching one's family and friends over the good of hardworking Americans. And I can't see this guy threatening to annihilate a whole civilization or dropping weird f-bombs on Easter. But hey, different strokes!

according to this Bloomberg article, post-COVID, Calif's GDP has been growing at a faster pace than either US, China or Germany

Yeah, it's funny. I hosted a friend in town here yesterday. She and her young son flew in from the east coast and were worried about all the bad things they've heard. She was blown away by how nice and easy and healthy our city is. We walked around for a couple of hours and it felt a lot more like Mayberry than an "unlivable hellscape"(TM, FoxNews). I can't credit Gavin Newsom for that, of course. He hasn't been in the city for a while now. But people should visit places and judge for themselves. I can create a negative tic-toc video of any place on earth, of course. And sure, SF, like any city, has some negative vibe blocks. But 95% of the city is thriving and all the stats are pretty much on the upswing.

We like our new mayor -- I think he's better than Gavin was actually. Gavin probably has always had a nose for headlines, or an attraction for headlines. I agree with those who say he shouldn't be the Dem. nominee for POTUS in 2028; lots of negative baggage, whether he's earned it or not. But in any case, he's not "scum" or worse than your average politician, based on my decades of watching politicians and having talked to the guy and watched his career.

and Ronald Reagan was the Governor

after ~2 generations of exodus from Calif, the golden state's economy has risen to become the 4th largest in the world

before Newsom was elected Gov ~8 yrs ago, in Calif, there were less than 100 firms involved w AI.
now there are thousands of firms in Calif involved in AI, with SF being the global AI hub


why are thousands of millennials/Gen Z, from Texas and other states, relocating to Calif, the land of higher taxes?

I haven't met him nor do I have a desire too. I do know people that have and they have no positive thoughts regarding him. My opinion is based on that and he just seems like a slimey person.
