I had a Trump supporter laugh at me for mentioning the Constitution and called it "semantics."

The idea that the majority of votes or even a plurality care about the Constitution is one that needs to be put to bed. Most Americans are ready for a benevolent dictator of from THEIR party and don't want to hear excuses anymore.

It hasn't been that long! If you couldn't take a one-month sag in sales, you didn't have a business in the first damn place!

Sorry, who is that fat dork? Thank goodness this old, tired guard of DC bureaucrats has been kicked to the curb. That's not a leader of war fighters!

The 25th Amendment will only come into play if Trump becomes incapacitated for an extended period. The 25th Amendment would be the only option of going forward in that case.

Impeachment remains an viable option, especially after a 2026 midterm R wipeout. If the Rs lose the House, there will be impeachment ... possibly lots and lots of impeachment. The Senate acting on a House impeachment is another story, regardless of which party has control. After the 2026 midterms, Trump is a lame duck President and will never appear another ballot. Trump may try and influence the 2028+ elections, out of spite more than anything else. Senate Rs, especially if the Rs lose ground in 2026, might grow a spine and realize Trump will be an anchor on their reelection hopes going forward. Impeaching his sorry ass may be the one way the can distance themselves from Trump. This is still a less than 50/50 proposition.

If the Ds regain the House in 2026, they need to impeach Trump. There are so many impeachable acts for them to chose from: starting a war with Venezuela without Congressional consent (blockading a country is an act of war), starting a war in Iran without Congressional consent (and any war crimes he signed off on), selling pardons, taking bribes, defunding agencies that have Congressionally approved funding, etc. The country and the SCOTUS need to see that an obviously corrupt POTUS can not be easily removed by Congress like the Founding Fathers envisioned. The next D POTUS needs to do whatever they damn well please and claim the Trump Precedent. That might be the only way the Rs to go along with updating the Constitution.

A world leader swearing about opening the gate one day then talking about burning the place and ending a civilization next.

Crazy stuff, who would have thought Game of Thrones would depict a world leader correctly. Has someone gone full Daenerys Targaryen????

I have very little faith that the White House is now or will later reveal the true number of casualties, and injured troops in this war. The lack of transparency and constant manipulation of information should generate deep concern for the families with loved ones abroad. I have no doubt there will be coverups and lies when it comes to how soldiers lost their lives either. We know Trump and Hegseth will cover up the truth in a heartbeat to blame anyone else if something happens. They would never even consider accepting responsibility for their actions, negligence, incompetence, and war crimes. Never! In fact, they will blame everyone but themselves for any retaliation bombings right now, and any terrorist threats coming down the road in retaliation and revenge stirred up by for this unprovoked attack.

The NYT published a very thorough account of how Trump decided to launch this war.
    • Netanyahu hyped up the possibility of regime change so much so that Rubio called it "bullshit" and Ratcliffe called it "farcical"
    • Trump proceeded with the war even though General Caine told him that it would be incredibly difficult to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
    • JD Vance is the most anti-war voice in the room, Hegseth was the biggest proponent.
    • The White House communications director articulated all of the critiques about the war from the MAGA mindset - no forever wars, no regime change wars, higher prices, and Trump calling the Iranian nuclear program "obliterated" less than one year earlier - but "he said that whatever decision Mr. Trump made would be the right one."
