He's not a slugger. His RBI production would be honestly characterized as mediocre.

Move him to the 2 spot, he's good at hitting with a man at first base. He can be really effective igniting a rally.

Alvarez needs to be 3rd in the batting order.

It's too early in the season. Give Correa at least another 150 more games this year before making a change.

I agree with Yordan hitting 3rd.

I think Correa is best in the 6 slot.

Espada's demented obsession with hitting Alvarez in the two hole is unfathomable.

Who else do we got cleanup ?

I'd go Issac when he's healthy and walker if he keeps this up for another couple of weeks .

But it's not like we are flush with options

I already told you there is about a 6 year data log of underwhelming RBI production, you still need 150 games be convinced?

You do realize that was a joke. He won't even play 150 games this season

Book says hit your best hitter 2. Next 2 best hitters 1 and 4. 3rd man comes up with no on and 2 out all the time.

It seems like CC just hits hard infield grounders and infield grounders into double play. And he hits it hard that he can never beat out the double play at first. Is he a good bunter to advance the runner(s)?

I will riot if Yordan is moved from the 2 spot.

At full strength, the lineup should be:

    Pena
    Yordan
    Paredes
    Altuve/Walker
    Altuve/Walker
    Correa
    Cam Smith
    Yainer/Vasquez
    Meyers

Some posters and their thread timing is impeccable but mostly predictable.

Yep. Loperfido 7th when we don’t play all our infielders.

I think the top 4 should be: Pena, Yordan, Isaac, Altuve.

Correa and Walker are both good #5/6 hitters but both poor #4 hitters.

Once again, the problem is when one of the top 4 have a day off, then Correa or Walker need to hit cleanup.

Thats another reason Isaac or Walker on this roster hurts the team as much as it helps.

Unless Yordan is playing LF 50%+ of the time there will simply be too many games with an all-star on the bench and Correa or Walker hitting cleanup.

It isn’t as bad if Loperfido continues to look the part and Cam gives us production. In the regular season, that’s enough. In the post season, we go death lineup everyday

Not looking ahead and anticipating potential speedbumps makes for a surprise stumble.

Eh - they haven't made it 2 weeks through the season and already have been dealing with 1 guy partly being injured and 1 guy on bereavement leave. Between that and Yordan playing some OF, this hasn't been a problem at all thus far. It's a problem that takes care of itself and, when they are all healthy, ensures that Nick Allen doesn't play on all the rest days for everyone else. Not to mention having traded one of them would also just have resulted in less playing time for Loperfido or Cam, both of who've held their own so far.

After last year's experience, the idea that depth is a problem that needs to be resolved is bizarre to me.

Paredes is back with the team but not in the lineup. That’s fine if he traveled today. Tomorrow sit Correa. Then Walker or Altuve.

Keeping Correa and Altuve fresh with periodic days off is just fine. Frankly, if Correa isn’t going to be an offensive force, Paredes can get 25 games at 3B.

Walker coming out strong and barreling balls left and right is the surprise. I thought Paredes would easily force his way to 1B. Great problem to have.

Someone like Yordan is more valuable to the lineup hitting 3rd when there's more opportunities to drive in runs because there's going to be more traffic on the bases hitting behind the top two hitters in the lineup as opposed to the bottom of the lineup and your leadoff hitter.
