Three teams are clearly trying to line up a first-round matchup with the Lakers right now: the Wolves, Denver, and Houston. The Lakers still have Dallas, OKC, Golden State, Phoenix, and Utah left, and they’re sitting at 50 wins in the 3-seed. With Luka out, they’d absolutely prefer drawing us as their matchup too. What we need to do is simple: go 3-0 until the Timberwolves game and keep a close eye on the standings. If you look at the Lakers’ next three games, Dallas is tanking, and Golden State has basically locked into the 10-seed. Their roster is so thin right now that they’re giving Ömer Faruk Yurtseven 29 minutes on a 10-day, even though they’ve picked up the pace a bit lately. I still think they’re capable of beating the Lakers. Because of that, I could realistically see the Lakers winning only 1 of their next 3, which would put them at 51 wins. If we win our next 3, we also get to 51 wins and set up that 4-5 situation with the Lakers, which is pretty much what both sides want. The problem is Minnesota. Their remaining schedule is really soft, and if they beat us in that head-to-head, they could end up getting the Lakers instead. That’s why that game is absolutely massive. We have to win it, no question.
If we could gain some confidence against a depleted Laker team there's some possibly we could put up a second round fight. If we get the Nuggets I predict gentlemen's sweep.
It seems like we’ll end up 5 or 4 against the Lakers, as they will struggle to keep a better record than Denver with both Donicic and Reaves out. It brings us better chances at winning the 1st round, but then we face the Thunder and probably exit at the 2nd round. If we end up vs. Nuggets I don’t think we’ll have a chance winning the 1st round, probably it will be Denver by 6 or 7.
I don't think he's coming back this season, you can't magically heal hamstrings, we've seen that with both Harden and Chris Paul
"One year ago, we knocked on the door. This year, we beat on the door. Next year we're gonna kick the son of a b**** in."
we need the Lakers in the 1st round…that is an easy sweep or 5 game series at most anything more than that and something went horribly wrong/multiple players on our roster along with Ime got exposed OKC is nowhere near as dominant in the postseason, so we’ll see what happens in the 2nd round…J-Dub is a questionable 2nd option, and so is Chet, and their role players turn into brick machines
Best case is play either the Lakers without Doncic and Reaves or the Wolves without Edwards isn’t this obvious… Don’t really care about the second round… 1) let’s beat a team to 7 first 2) we’ll lose to whoever we face 2nd round anyways
Didn’t happen for them and Bum was a great coach. Ime may kick a door down, but it won’t be for a championship.
Feels like everyone on X is there to be spread propaganda. How can you believe this non-sense? We're bad but not that bad lol. He should be scared if he cares.
I feel like we're going to get the T'Wolves as the 3 seed. Denver has the ability and incentive to tank those games against OKC and SAS to try to slide down to the 4 seed to face the Lakers.
