Yordan is commanding the plate in a way that rarely any of us have seen since Bagwell. (Or Bonds if you want to go just full baseball). He’s literally the central focus of every opposing team’s staff… and he’s still able to impact nearly every inning. I know the Astros hold all the cards on locking him in further (similar to Altuve’s pre-mega extension), so as long as that big man is healthy, they’re going to make him the man.
I was going to say the same, I don't think I've seen anything like it since Bonds...but Bonds was a much greater extent, it's more like prime David Ortiz.
He’s 30… not 50. Correa still has elite range in the field. Makes sense he would have a semblance of giddyup on the basepaths. I thought they shut down his stealing due to the questionable hardware in the ankle stuff that failed his Mets physical…. But I guess head first slides ok?
And first attempt in 4. Clearly was eliminated for precaution… now with bigger bases, and more physical awareness and points of emphasis, being weaved back in? Definitely contributed to that extra run there.
