I think if this is true it means they are going to offer him a bag in rfa and dare the rockets to match.
Yep. Stone screwed up again, not moving him at the deadline. We could gave sold high, and not lost him for next to nothing...or matching some high number.
Idk how good Peyton Watson’s defense is, but if the dollar amount is equal, I think I’d rather have him than Tari Eason Tari finally broke out of his slump, but he better bring it in the playoffs or he’s gonna be that dude begging for change and offering to wash windows at the red light in free agency
Well, if the Lakers really are willing to trade Reaves for Tari, the salaries have to match. A sign and trade could work.
Yeah, but who do you sit in that situation? Not Alpi or KD, Not Amen. It comes down to Jabari and Tari and I think Tari is the odd man out.
How did you read "trade" in that? They're clearly going to offer him a bag we likely won't match so we get nothing from the deal.
Tari is too stupid to be a starter, he is a great disruptor but his BBall IQ is pretty crap.... We only need one of Tari, DFS....one has to go.....should be DFS....but Tari may be asking for too much for what he is. DD
Reaves has a player option for next season, I think it's highly likely that he declines that option and is a free agent. This wouldn't fly under the CBA: the CBA does not allow two separate sign‑and‑trades to be combined into one transaction. A sign‑and‑trade is a one‑way mechanism, not a mutual exchange of newly signed free agents.
If the Lakers are dumb enough to make Tari a multiyear offer at 18-20 mil a season, they can have him. He's shown this year that he's not worth anything close to that and is not starter material. And he wouldn't start next year anyway with Fred back.
This is true, but it will hurt to lose Tari despite his weaknesses. The Rockets should’ve traded him before the season started if it was possible. It was one of the craziest slumps I’ve ever seen a player go through, but he is a very valuable bench player when he is shooting decent and uninjured. DFS was brought in as Tari insurance and if we lose Tari this off-season, you’d better hope DFS turns it around or we got a lot thinner at forward.
Yeah, losing Tari and having DFS play like crap next year would be a real problem. The one positive is that DFS would be an expiring contract because 27–28 is not guaranteed making it much easier to move him than it would be this past deadline. I just hope that if he sucks again next year Ujoka doesn't think he just needs more minutes, I can fix him! He's what we need! and they don't move on. That dude will play 5 forwards every chance he gets.
$14,898,786 option We could hope he opts in, so a S&T is on the table .... but I think it's very unlikely. He's going to get a much bigger contract. I wonder if LA is able to keep him - He may well end up in a S&T, just not for Tari. Reaves and Reed would be a terrible defensive back court .... but light up a score board - fun to watch.
I don't see how Lakers could offer him more than Rockets. Unless you let Lebron walk. And even still they have to pay Reeves. So you are going to have two players close to 100 million. Now you add Lebron. Nothing they can offer Tari. They would have to let Rui walk, maybe Kennard, and if Ayton or Smart who have player options next year don't sign then the Lakers will have no players.
