"completely unprepared" is a stretch. War is messy, extremely, and Iran isn't a pushover country. Versus the military, the US executive leadership is completely unprepared to make better foreign policy decisions and they seem determined to keep ridding themselves of expertise and common sense to boot.

Had a relative who was an Air Force fighter jock. Flew in Vietnam and eventually worked his way up to leadership. To make his way up the ladder, he knew he had to take a post where he flew A-10s. He hated it and thought they were a death trap. Couldn't get that box checked fast enough. That was in the 1980s.

 

And now those crew members will be paraded in front of our disinterested President and idiot Secretary of War Crimes so Republicans can bask in the stolen valor.
