I have to admit that initially, I didn't like the pick at all. (wanted Clingan) Now, Reed's getting better and better with time. Most of us agree that Ime's hurt his development...to a degree. Although, his improvement on the defensive side of the ball is undeniable. That said, he needed the minutes last year to improve across the board.
We're such a better team with Reed out top, and Amen primarily off ball.
At minimum, he becomes a borderline ALL STAR PG. (maybe more of a scoring "PG")That's his floor IMO.
His upside....which, to me, looks like what we're getting...is a perennial ALL STAR.

This was what I was thinking as well… next year we may move Reed up, but Sarr and Castle have shown more to this point.

IMO, Sarr, Sheppard, Castle, Clingan, Ware, and McCain are the top 6 so far. Still too early to tell who will end up the best above the rest.

Top 3. Probably Castle, then Reed/Clingan. Sarr has improved, but he’s a standout on a shitty team. Certainly hasn’t impacted winning like Reed. Reed and Castle are the only ones currently who are capable of breaking a game open.

Probably 3. If the Hawks had it to do over again they likely pick Clingan.

The wizards may stick with Sarr even though he's been disappointing... but maybe pick Reed or Castle.

The Rockets take Reed no question.

I'm at 4 or 5. I always thought he had a high floor, but didn't believe he was gonna be this good. Damn.

I'd still take Clingan or Castle over Reed. Sarr also.

    But, it's close.

Well, none of them go top three in a redraft of last year.

Dayum, Knueppel is what a real budding superstar looks like.

If the Rockets passed on Reed, the Spurs jump on that in a heartbeat and are a MUCH better team now.

I think it's close between all these guys. I do agree they would get the most out of him, with the better org/coach....plugging in perfectly with what they have.

I understand castle as a POA defender and good at a lot of things except shooting but how much of it is helped by having wemby guard the paint and being in that spurs system? Castle only won that ROY because he was just padding stats and staying in blowouts to get them

Never saw Clingan being this good especially his shooting; he's really impressed me and you could have moved on from Adams (and Sengun if you really wanted) if you took him

Reed probably goes top 4; any of these 4 are better than what the hawks did

Buzelis and Ware are there as well and can't forget about Ajay Mitchell

Its still too early for a re-draft.

People are mentioning Clingan, Castle, Sarr, McCain and Ware as having the potential to go over Reed.

I think I'd definitely add Buzelis and Ayjay Mitchell to the party, and for some FO's that seriously distrust Reeds starting viability due to his size, I can see guys like Wells, George, Tyson, Edey being considered. Guys like Bub Carrington, Risacher and Saulun have shown potential and are still just 20. If Isaiah Collier can find a 3PT shot, his vision, size and penetration ability could propel him into an allstar. Topic hasn't gotten a chance yet.

Also, Pelle Larson with our traded 44th pick has looked awesome. Starting this season, averaging nearl 15 5 5 per 36 with good efficiency and good defense. Physical player, already the best Swedish player in NBA history.

I think Castle and Reed are in essentially opposite situations. Anywhere else and Castle struggles to stay on the court because he's such an awful shooter. Anywhere else and Reed's numbers are MUCH better due to not having to deal with Ime.

His spot at #3 still feels about right, give or take a slot or two, but some of the other players would shift around.

I think you can cross off Castle for us specifically because there's just too much overlap with Amen. While it's not a good idea to draft for fit generally speaking, the situation in which a player gets to develop does matter in terms of, you know, actually getting to play, and it's hard to see Castle getting many minutes given our roster construction, which would then tank his value as a prospect and hurt his development.

I think you could make the argument for Clingan, Buzelis, or Ware. I think all three are at about the same level as Reed is right now in terms of value and future potential. Of those four players, Clingan and Ware would have been very nice fits on this squad. Better than Reed? I don't know. Projecting forward, I think the fit question is also pretty close to a wash. Ware was also probably never going to happen since he wasn't really in the top 10 conversation.

I do wonder, in hindsight, what the cost would have been to get the #5 or #6 pick and draft Clingan ahead of Portland, since we know the Rockets liked him. I suspect the cost would have been much lower than a typical high lottery pick, and he would have been a fantastic backup big for us that would have made it unnecessary to have Adams and Capela on the books, which in turn would have given us more room to play with under the first apron.

    Tier 1

    Castle/Sheppard/Matas (Bulls)

    then the others:
    ...
Jared McCain - useful role player.

    ----- tier 2
Ron Holland (Pistons) - useful role player.

Ware (Heat) - up and down. Spo had to call him out in public. Last batch of games, that Heat lost, defense hasn't been good. He's slightly over-rated on ClutchFans. Does he fit with Bam, Heat fans have questions. In trade talks, usually Heat fans are ok with shipping Ware off for big fish hunting. lot of TBDs.

Clingan, <= 'he look ok', promising but also slightly overhyped.

Edey (injury) - never had too many minutes with Ja together to see what the pairing is like. Might be too late for Ja.

    Risacher - TBD

    -----Tier 3
    Rob Dillingham

Sarr (danger territory of being a bust)

    Cody Williams

Bub Carrington (technically a slump year, but I think injury is part of it, plus they're giving minutes to the other new players). Next year, Trae Young and AD, minutes will be tight over there in Wiz Land, it could be sink or swim for him to get minutes.

    Stopping here.

Interesting to me people here are so low on Sarr, he's really the only one i'd remotely consider over Reed in a redraft. He just needs some time, he'll be a very good player. The Ware stuff is kinda funny also, he's a HORRIFIC defensive player and when you're a center that's not acceptable.

I avoid watching OKC, but in hindsight, he's got to be in the Top 5. Proably even higher if I watched mre OKC.
