I remember when he was in the draft, some people thought he could go as high as #1. Rockets picked the right guy as their #3 in Jabari; as that was a realistic option. Sure it seems that J Duren and J Williams have proven to be superior players, but they weren’t realistic option unless the Rockets traded down. Nevertheless, I think it would be great to give Jayden Ivey a look in a Rockets uniform. He’s a rotation player, maybe not at a star level, but someone who can be a part of an 8-man rotation.
Well the Bible is full of contradictions so who really cares. Another persecuted "christ-stan"...... He'll be making the tax exempt money soon enough by getting on the grift train.
Contradictions, deleted books, late added books, purposefully mistranslated in several spots, etc. The Bible is incomplete
I love it when humans get this self righteous about religion becoming their very own moral authority. And that religion is the exact one that is closest in proximity to where they live culturally. All the while not learning about any other religions or philosophies out there. Holds true for political stances as well. Laziness and ignorance engulfs oneself then proceeds to engulf others with it as well.
He’s an often injured athletic combo guard whose athleticism is fallen off. Not sure why we should want any part of that.
If that is something controversial and basically hate speech then that whole “standing his ground” does not fly. It comes across as being judgmental and close minded. He works for a team, so unless he wants a career where saying such things is not an issue like a podcast runner or artist, then he has to deal with the consequences.
I think his injury is probably the real reason they release him. The political things may just be an excuse. I mean, if he was their franchise player, would they just get rid of him because he said something controversial?
Jaden Ivey being cut is all you need to know about his actual playing ability. If he was any good, he'd be getting a suspension and be taking classes and doing community work (Kawhi leonard style) to make up for this.
Chicago didn't need an excuse to cut him. Players can be waived for almost any reason. He's also an expiring contract and the season ends in two weeks. They could have just waited until the season ended and not re-signed him. Waiving him immediately after his video makes a statement.
It's a statement alright. But they could have suspended him and then not re-signing him after the season. It's still true that he probably would have been treated differently if he was a good player for them. That's the hypocrisy I don't like.
No classes needed as he said nothing wrong. Do we live in communist China where we can’t express the opposite view of the leftist junk the NBA is shoving down our throats. They freaking also had a strip club night in Atlanta until a player spoke out. Sports leagues need to stay out of politics and stay in their own lane.
Calling out Steph Curry was beyond stupid. Don’t get involved with this nutcase. Mediocre at basketball and bad for your bottom line. Probably undiagnosed bipolar disorder
I think this is a scenario where they only cut him because he's a terrible player, not just because he said things against sacred cows. That said i wonder what would happen if a max caliber player did the same? Whose side would they take, the top tier player or the sacred cows? Interesting to think about anyway.
Look at his numbers, revise your opinion, and realise that the jersey sales have **** all to do with his basketball ability
Depends how controversial I reckon. Profit margins are profit margins. If the bottom line starts to be threatened, don't bank on someone keeping their job. It's really that simple tbh.
