I keep wondering why we're in the pickle we're in, then I read stuff like this

These people lack a basic understanding...there is no 1000kg just sitting around with the sign "take it", not to mention apparently a lot of it is in various forms. If its underground the logistics of sitting there, drilling, extracting and then leaving is net to impossible.

He thinks he can take, demand, or do anything he wants. He has lived his life that way. His loyalists enable him to take it to the extreme now. It's sick. The military are his pawns.

Hegseth's new nickname within DOD is "Dumb McNamara." That's about as bad a thing you can say about a Secretary of Defense.

Yep. When Trump telegraphed the last bombing of Iran's nuclear infrastructure there were satellite photos that showed them hauling away their uranium. They broke it up into containers small enough to fit into the trunk of a car. This is basic intel. 1000 kg of uranium could easily be split up into 50 or so briefcase sized containers and spread across the country.

I need to watch Fog of War again. I remember McNamara coming off as a psychopath, but don't remember much else about the documentary, other than being an incredible insight into the mindset of those running the Vietnam war.

Responding to your defense more or less of genocide. The Israeli Genocide is arguably MORALLY worse than the Nazi Holocaust Genocide. The Nazi succeeded to a certain extent in hiding the extent of their genocide. However, and any German who knew about it and protested would have been immediately beaten, arrested and tortured. Meanwhile in democratic Israel any Jewish Israeli citizen who protested their genocide in Gaza would probably not have suffered that fate-- merely the dislike and criticism of the majority of Israelis supporting the geocide.

He's already spent 1/3 of his time golfing at his properties and security cost alone close to 100 million dollars and it's only been a year. He's spent more time golfing than every president in recent history combined.

It's funny though cuz when Biden was president @Salvy @Commodore would b**** about biden going on Delaware on the weekends but suddenly don't care Trump golfing every weekend in Florida. You can't expect his cultists to have any dignity or shame or they wouldn't be MAGA

    AI:
The U.S. Treasury is facing an unprecedented "maturity wall," with approximately $12 trillion in federal debt scheduled to mature and require refinancing in the coming fiscal year (around 2026).
This situation represents a significant fiscal challenge, as this debt, largely issued during periods of low interest rates, must be rolled over at a time of significantly higher interest rates.
    Key Implications and Context:
    • Refinancing Crunch: The US government may need to refinance nearly one-third of its total debt in 2026.
    • Rising Interest Costs: The cost of servicing this debt is increasing dramatically. Projections indicate that annual net interest expenses could surpass $1.6 trillion within two years, potentially exceeding defense spending.
    • Systemic Risk: This massive refinancing requirement is creating volatility risk across financial markets, affecting government bonds, stocks, and other assets.
    • Fiscal Choices: Policymakers face difficult decisions, including potential increases in debt issuance (risking market absorption capacity), tightening monetary policy.

    Old good Napkins calculation version:
Trump 1.0 + Biden +Trump2 utilized short terms borrowing, 12 trillions are due this years, good luck with that , add higher premium and urgent war spending and the 1.6 Trillion in interests is unrealistically quite low of an estimate, I still think 5 trillions is more realistic afterwards

Spain has closed their airspace for US forces , respect ,they have been the heart and soul of Europe

"The Wall Street Journal: Replacing Iran-struck Boeing E-3 Sentry Could Cost the U.S. More Than $700 Million"
amazing how Iran effectively and patiently dismantled radars through out the region , they just hit Haifa oil refinery for the 2nd time with ease, now they need to finish the 2nd half and hit Demona
    "..

    cold spill from Iran ;

We have not held any direct negotiations with the United States so far.
We have received messages through intermediaries regarding the United States' desire to negotiate.

The Pakistan meetings are a framework established by those countries themselves, and we did not participate in them..."

Precise targeting on some very expensive US military planes.

Ukraine has intel that Russia is providing sat images / intel to Iran.

And when asked about it... Trump just can't, as if he literally isn't able to, or is afraid to criticize or say anything bad about Putin's Russia. 8+ years pattern.
