Considering we have two Iran War threads, I just choose one or the other at random to post in. It's frustrating having two threads discussing the same news. Today I choose this one I guess.

I believe that the moral dilemma for a lot of our troops must be really tough right now.

The reason I say that is because of so many different lies and justifications for the attack since the beginning. It's not like back when we entered WWII the day after Pearl Harbor was attacked, when Americans overwhelmingly started supporting entering the war for good reason.

We attacked Iran, and it has to cause some doubt about risking your life for a cause that keeps changing with the wind. It also has to put a little doubt in their minds on trusting the words from the Commander in Chief, and everyone down the chain of command, when they have lied before, and constantly are changing their stories, including bombing a school of girls.

I pray that our leaders do not put boots on the ground. The majority of Americans do not support that. I don't want to see our soldiers put into that situation, especially with the latest threats from Iran, threatening to "rain fire" on U.S. soldiers if they initiate ground operations.

War hawk Lindsey Graham said, "We did Iwo Jima. We can do this." He doesn't seem to care that more than 7,000 soldiers were killed, and there were 26,000 casualties in that win. In fact, if it were up to him and certain Trump, and his butt kissing loyalists, the statue put on Kharg Island would probably be a gold one of Trump holding up his fist.

The other moral dilemma would be the extremist religious rhetoric and rightouusness being intertwined in speeches by Hegseth and others to justify attacking Iran, and glorifying the violence. There are so many different religious beliefs of our troops, it must cause even more turmoil for them, if they have different religious views. Here's a couple examples of the contradictions...

Even more dangerous when he actually believes it. "Divine providence" appears in every culture as a reason or motivation for their own righteous war. The opposite tactic gets used too. I recall someone here portraying Iran as a religious extremist that would nuke us, as a reason to support this war. That part is self-justification or propaganda. With Hegseth, who knows? Is he a true believer or just playing one?

The next big fraud is going to be private credit market. It’s almost exactly like the housing bubble because they create loans, pawn them off on other investors and take a cut. They really don’t care how bad the loans are because they aren’t on the hook when they fail. So you see fraud and corruption on the other end where those taking out the loans get rich while the businesses they are running bust out, if they were even legitimate to begin with.

So both sides of the loan are incentivised to be shady while the suckers in the middle hold the bag.
