You couldn't have possibly thought for a millisecond Jalen was the better of the two. Jalen is actually doing better than I thought he would this year.

I will always root for Jalen. Glad we traded him, but he’s a good kid and tried hard here. But what does it say that Stone gave him $36 mil per and turned him into a negative asset?

He’s gonna lay some bricks…but he won’t back down from anyone. Something we’re sorely lacking this year.

A negative asset can't get you Kevin Durant

The more I see of Jalen--and this is coming from someone who still roots for him a ton--the more I think that the so-called "realists" were right from the start.

He's a high variance, chemistry plus type of player who can erupt for big nights, more often against sloppier defenses. It feels like if he becomes an all-star, he'll probably be more of a borderline type instead of an all-NBA guy.

He isn't a Cunningham/Ant-type talent, and that's fine. He doesn't command that sort of money either. But it does kind of sadden me that realism has once again conquered idealism

You can rest assured that there are probably 10x Jalens out there and he was the one making it to the NBA.

The NBA never lacked talent and highlight reels......some draft classes did though, why you had busts.

I hear Alijah Arenas, the 6'6 son of Gilbert Arenas is being compared to Jalen Green due to quickness and shot attempts.

well ah-duh ..Suns played more than a few games with no Booker or Brooks…he was their only option

I do like that PHX is playing him at SF…and their offense paint is a lot less clogged than ours … he also has Booker drawing attention of defenses vs Alpi or Thompson who defender only needs to move 4ft from the rim

Had to add an additional lottery pick and our top defensive player to get it done though.

Maybe fractional value is the better term.

Honestly I'm pretty sure Jalen's value for Phoenix was mainly salary matching and getting to market it to their fanbase as getting something for KD. I think they knew what they were really getting, but you have to save face somehow. Dillon was the real value add in the deal for them, he addressed their biggest roster problem.

The deal was flexible though as most of Stone’s contracts are. It wasn’t a max contract and it allowed a 3rd year player option and also under bird rights. Bird rights are transferred to the team the player is traded to (Suns). That’s why it’s an attractive asset.

Houston had no other player at the time to fill that role so I get why he did that. Probably didn’t want or couldn’t find a trade partner prior to the signing.
