We’ll agree to disagree. But I’ll keep a seat warm for you in case you want to hop on the Ime hate train. There’s plenty of room lol.
LOL, you actually thought that our fragile hold on the 3rd spot two weeks ago will hold much longer?? You could have at least waited until the 2 matches vs. Lakers.. I wonder how good of a coach you think Ime is after blowing 13 lead with less than 3 min. Vs. Wolves. And please don’t blame it on KD ft misses. We shouldn’t been in the position of him making those shots to win this game. Any time we have a lead late in the game, our opponents just know they can strangle kd and force the turnover. It’s both Ime’s fault for failing in drawing normal plays that can lower the pressure off kd, and Stone for not getting us a ball handler instead of either dfs or Tari, both are currently redundant.
My argument for him not immediately being fired is that I suppose we do need to see what his offense looks like with KD and a proper lead guard. I'm literally just grasping at straws though--I don't see our ownership pulling the plug on Ime this early into his new contract so I need to justify it in my head somehow
I will call Ime a good coach if the Rockets make it to the second round and lose in a close series in the second round.
I see what you're saying but I have my do obviously have my doubts. I want this team to win and I see no continuity with Ime. He's absolutely clueless on offense. Giving him that new contract was awful. Yes, and it's really unfortunate for us as fans. I don't think you're wrong for grasping at straws and being hopeful. That's part of being a fan and you seem like a good one
I can’t think of a single game in the last 2 years that was won by Ime’s coaching skills. I can think of a bunch that were lost by his coaching skills.
This is not about him being good or not, this is him hopefully doing the least damage on Offense and in tight situations.
I get what you’re saying but unless it’s some unbelievable tactical mind **** he pulls on an opponent you shouldn’t and probably won’t notice the wins but you shouldn’t only log the losses on him. If that’s the case someone let Josh Bostic know that MFer is 96-0 the last two years cause Ime gets no credit for wins. Having said that there was a study that showed that NBA coaches are highly influential over an 82 game season, something like 20-30% of a win/loss record (15-24 games) so if there’s one pro sport where you want to move on from a guy that ain’t it it’s the NBA.
Morey said coaches make most difference to crappy teams and least amount to the top teams. Which actually describes Ime pretty well, and also the general landscape of the NBA, where COTY candidates each year are teams that go from being 20-30 win team to 40-50 win team. Cause that's the easiest leap to make. Of course, Morey's coaches have generally underperformed in the playoffs, so he clearly doesn't have any secret sauce on playoff coaching. But Ime Udoka fits into his floor-raising idea of coaches quite well.
