Yeah that team is insufferable to watch. Nothing about the talent but its whining EVERY play offense and defense nonstop whining and crying about fouls.
Agree….we are arguing whether we lise 4-2 in the first round vs. 4-1. Like Stone, I am just waiting patiently for next year when 33 year old slower FVV is back and everything is miraculously fixed.
I personally want the Spurs. Sengun can go toe-to-toe with Wemby and the rest of their roster doesnt really scare me tbh. Doncic might be too much for us, and the Wolves are just too big, we lost Adams, and they also have Ant. The Spurs are the best matchup for us.
So who would I prefer to bounce us out of the 1st round? Merchant Shai? (unlikely seeding) Interstate Wemby? (unlikely seeding) Luka DonCheeks Lakers Nikola Slow-kic Nuggets Selfish Ant-horny Edwards I guess I'll take the wolves.
Yeah he does it a lot too but the Lakers have it in Luka and Lebron constantly and it feels like it works. It just feels like ref ball.
The seeding itself isn't an issue. The Rockets have won a championship as the sixth seed before. The problem is our seeding is a pretty accurate reflection of our decline. We were crushing teams early on. Now the games are ugly and I don't feel comfortable even with a huge lead. I prefer a matchup with the Lakers too, but with them rolling and us struggling I doubt a preferential matchup will even matter.
I am not sure if there is a "good matchup" for us at the moment, we seem to be losing to all the playoff contenders.
If we're going to lose in the first round, I want to lose so convincingly that no one in national media is saying we could have won the series with FVV/Adams. I'm actually more interested to see who has fight in them and who will lay down. Are poor defenders gonna ratchet up their intensity? Are poor shooters gonna cut and drive more aggressively? Who's gonna fight for loose balls? Who's gonna be a zero when it's 'not their night'? I actually want to see the "worst" matchup.
The problem is unless the Rockets tank a few games the rest of the way, they may wind up as the 5th seed. Minnesota has the toughest remaining schedule of the 3-6 seeded teams including one here at Toyota Center. Denver does face OKC and San Antonio a total of 3 times in the next couple weeks, but 2 of those are at the end of the regular season when the Thunder and Spurs could theoretically have nothing to play for if they're locked in at #1 and #2. For me, the nightmare scenario is being 5th and starting the postseason on the road facing the Nuggets.
exactly... if i gotta look at Luka and LeBrons faces for 4 or more games... i damn well better see em crying at the end!
OKC and Spurs are obviously the upper level... everybody else is a crapshoot... any of the other west teams could win or lose to any of the others - just a matter of whose hitting their shots on any given night... id wager whoever shoots the higher % from 3 will win every series...
