Uh yeah bro they arent on the team anymore. Because we traded them. Isnt that what you are complaining about? That we traded them? lol How can you prove the trade created an imbalanced roster when you dont even wanna look at how the players traded are performing? How do you know the trade made us unbalanced when you cant even check the stats? Both these guys suck if we didnt trade them they'd be doing the sucking here. Brooks career year is due to chucking shots he is the most inefficient 20 ppg scorer before he went down. You dont want stats cuz you know you are wrong. If you dont mention stats then you can keep complaining about the dribble drive 3 pt shooter but if you look at stats oh woops thats a 29% bricklayer.
Go back and read what I wrote before going into an emotional rant again. Your posting a couple metrics to try to prove those players aren’t “good” is irrelevant. I didn’t complain anything. I simply explained thoroughly that the Rockets have no 2 guard that could both shoot or drive consistently. As much as you hate Green and as inconsistent as he was there was no doubt that was in his skillset. He was still a threat to drive scoring in the paint and shoot 3. Amen can’t shoot more than 10 ft. Again Brooks is superior to any 3 we have now. With the Rockets playing KD at 2 most of the year and bench guys at the 3, means this roster is imbalanced and deficient post Durant trade. It was trading 2 for 1 then using KD in the 2 role because Amen isn’t really a 2. He’s a hybrid 3/combo guard unique player that can’t shoot.
This thread has already aged poorly and it will only spread like my cancer whenever the Rockets lose. Ime coached well last night for the most part, and I'm not going to entertain the idea that he is anywhere on the same level as the incompetence of McHale. Rick Adelman, Mikey D and Van Gundy were amazing in different ways, too. Anyway, it's been obvious since the beginning of the season that Tari is better off of the bench. I know how corner 3s show great stats (aside from the last 20 or so games), but he is still developing his game, but more importantly, his basketball IQ is worrisome. From game to game, you don't know what to expect. I'll admit my bias towards Josh right off the bat. But at least the entire team knows that he's going to hustle his ass off on the defensive end and do all the little things to help the team which don't involve scoring. Josh can hit his 3s, but his hustle and accountability are much more reliable than the Tari of this season. Even last night , KD rightfully got on him for not swinging the ball out after Tari went for his favorite 1 on 4 dribble to the ft line, stop, wild fadeaway. Just nonsensical at times. You need guys like Josh, Luc, PJ, Ariza, Covington and freaking Ryan Bowen (the list goes on) in a balanced starting lineup. Props to Reed for glowing out there and props to KD and Amen for being his consistent, encouraging accountability partners. Honorable mention to Holiday for going out there and dropping 8 in a row when we were struggling. Not too much on Tari right now, but I wish Stone would have pulled the trigger for another guard and/or big at the deadline. Either way, the Rockets have a crazy mix of youth, vets and a top 10 GOAT going into the playoffs. The unpredictability is a bonus in some ways because we have multiple guys who can light it up at any moment and guys like Jabari who have really taken strides to improve on both ends this season. Those home court advantage tie breakers seem like they suck for us, but I'm not so sure. I like our chances against everyone except the Spurs. And, I'm not an optimist, but we've lived through amazing regular seasons and disappointing playoff series. I think we'll end up playing the Wolves...Clint is going to be a major part of whether or not we succeed this year. (He will take the challenge personally to embarrass Rudy Gobert any chance he gets...same with that walking BS Ayton)
This thread is a lot more accurate than you saying FVV is back April 1st. But, screw the thread, I may think your takes are too Ime reach around-ish, but you have Cancer? **** everything else - I hope you get better. DD
Man, F&#$ cancer, that b*stard disease. Pullin for you, brother. Beat it down. My fam and I will keep you in our thoughts
Brooks was not good at driving to the hoop or creating his own shot last year. He got better with the Suns early in the season, but his 3 pt shot reverted to his average and he got injured. Brooks was a good value and set a tone for our defense, but he is being glossed as better than he is/was. A small forward that is pathetic at passing, does not drive well, and a lousy rebounder is not worth all the accolades he has been getting on this board. A healthy Tari, shooting his career average at 3, is a better player than Brooks. I agree our roster is in-balanced, but it’s mostly because Ime has chosen to spam Durant as a PG, instead of the SF/PF off the ball guy he should be on this team. We are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to spacing with Reed in the game and Durant off the ball. I’m not sure Reed will be able to handle the playoffs when he will be grabbed and bludgeoned all over the court, but Ime has taken steps in the right direction of late with the roster he has. More plays for Reed and Amen and Durant and Sengun playing within the flow of the offense, instead of playing selfish and not responding particularly well to double teams. On the defensive end, playing Reed and Sengun is problematic. I think more and more, the decision isn’t Sengun or Amen to be traded, it’s Sengun to be traded or Reed to be traded or come off the bench. We need a rim protector since we only have Amen or Okogie (who is offensively challenged) that can guard the perimeter. If we are keeping Sengun, we will need another guard that can shoot and guard the perimeter. If he can drive as well even better. I still think Ime is really bad bench coach and when FVV gets back we will still suck at offense, but at least there is a glimmer of hope for more entertaining basketball the rest of the year.
never said Brooks was great driving but he still could especially when has a crease on kick outs. He still is a 3 level scorer and in no way is Eason better than Brooks. Eason may be better at getting to the paint but doesn’t give you a mid range look and doesn’t have the intensity, leadership, and influence Brooks has.
I'm not saying KD doesn't come with baggage or Ime/coaching staff doesn't play a part, but the young core has really shown their inexperience this year. Don't insult my intelligence and tell me the coaching staff doesn't go over film and correct them. Our young core has trouble with the simple things like timing and where to be in crunch time. Last year we had the combo of FVV and Brooks taking on the leadership and floor general role on the court on offense and defense respectively. They helped the young core get in their spots, make sure they pick up the right assignment, etc. It's not that KD, DFS, and Clint aren't telling guys where to go on the court (or literally pushing them in the right direction as I've seen DFS do) , it's that they aren't doing it to nearly the same extent.
Whenever Rocket coaches are mic..ed up, they never say anything coaching related, it is all cheering, or move or some general stuff, our coaching is not good. DD
after the 26-27 season, Wonder what the rockets do in regards of having the possible 1-4 pick Nets and 18th pick from the suns. Will Durant play 1 more year?, and FVV will possibly done with his contract. Rockets bring in 2 young rookies for 27-28 year? Do they mix in with what they already build or do they trade these picks? Do you trade durant after 2026-27 season as salary dump? Sengun and Amen age wise in 27-28 year will be around 25,26 , so they will continue to build around there core? Eason will probably not be here. Reed and Jabari will thou you think? Yes long term i dont think Kevin Durant is not the answer, but for now he is. 2 years from now he will be out of the league. Lot of unknowns, just hope they dont dump this team to pair Durant and Giannis for a quick fix that wont work for 2-3 year window.
Last game when Ivey was mic’d, Ime was next to him and totally told Amen to “flash” to the middle of zone, for a pass then immediate pass back to Reed for open 3 2nd play of the game. They were ready for the Miami zone. this one:
The turnovers were much worse. He completely choked when it came crunch time. He has no idea how to manage a game. ****ing pathetic
This is all Ime's fault trying to use him like he is 27 years old, he isn't......he is a great scorer, that is it....nothing more.....he needs a coach that can use him that way, and hide him on D, and not have him trying to do what he is poor at.....passing. Sure he can make one every now and again, but under pressure he sucks at passing. DD
I don’t see the point of KD if we’re not contending. And we are not contending next season. So why keep KD? Why not trade him for an asset that can help the team build for the future?
You support scrubs like KPJ and Whitmore and are consistently wrong about everything. Yeah, first miss was bad but the second miss was well executed and intentional. They just couldn't get the ball inbounds which speaks to terrible coaching
As pathetic as lying about everything on a message board? KD isn't perfect but he was a good deal. He can't help we have absolutely no shooting. It's going to be worse with FVV
