I don't think he was able to cheer too much . I'm assuming the public library has hours. Plus, he had to do his daily dumpster diving

Christoper Rufo is parroting what Sean Hannity is spinning on life TV. neither of them has bothered to research on the vegetated Freeway Overpass.
    shame on Basso,
parroting a convenient false narrative spin by out-of-state people who don't bother to research the genesis of this vegetated freeway overpass---spannning the ten-lane Ventura Freeway, connecting the Simi Hills with the isolated Santa Monica Mountains----in Agoura Hills at Liberty Canyon

The Ventura Fwy, US 101 / CA 134, was contructed in the 1960s, connecting Ventura county and the San Fernando Valley, the nothern most part of Los Angeles.

Since then, , the Santa Monica Mountains's mountain lion population has declined and become genetically isolated, primarily due to the Ventura Freeway that prevents them from moving between the mountains and the Simi Hills to the north. since 2002, more than a dozen mountain lions---crossing the ventura freeway---had been struck by cars and killed.

in 2014, as a soution to this environmental dilemma, the idea of a vegetated freeway overpass was developed by environmental groups.

In 2020, biologists found the first evidence of physical abnormalities in the isolated population.

Gavin Newsom attended the groundbreaking ceremony in April 2022, w an estimated completion date in 2024. It is in the final stages of completion, expected to be completed in the fall of 2026.

altho Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is nearly finished, but already small creatures are making it their home
    [IMG]

“I have seen western fence lizards on the crossing—we even have a regular one I named Bob who lives at the top of the stairs and says hello each time we pass. I have seen four species of butterflies, and several species of birds—western bluebirds, western tanagers, black phoebes and more,” Pratt added. “Red-tailed hawks are usually flying overhead when we are onsite, and some turkey vultures buzzed us one day while we were on top. Two weeks in a row, an American kestrel flew over to say hello. Build it and they really will come. This is such a hopeful project for wildlife as it shows even a freeway is redeemable.”

She said that once the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is completed, “We’ll all be celebrating the first animal to cross the 101. What a magical moment that will be for all of us. My bet? The deer. They have already been approaching the bridge on the construction site.”

and scumbags like Hannity / Rufo would spin this as the bridge to nowhere!:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

Tinfoil publicizing his willful ignorance again, too ignorant to understand that

the vegetated freeway overpass in Agoura Hills represents the largest wildlife corridor in the world and will
restore habitats and an ecosystem that over time has been degraded by human development.
The overpass will allow for wildlife to cross freely over the 101 freeway (10 lanes) without the threat of death or accidents,
and will ensure the survival of many isolated species."

the structure mimics natural landscapes, creating safe migration routes for wildlif from the Santa Monica Mountains to the Simi Hills.
It will be a living lifeline for reptiles and mammals to reach habitats on either side of the fast-flowing freeway. Not only will it be
the first of its kind in Calif, but it will also act as a “global model for urban wildlife conservation”

tinfoil is the same moron that parroted the convenient false narrative that SF has become a ghost city.:oops::oops::oops:

It’s hilarious what the conservative anti California, anti woke blogosphere feeds its consumers on a daily basis and sure enough it ends up here in the California thread on the political section of the Rockets message board.

Out of the blue people are suddenly concerned about the wildlife crossing that in a little over two years has almost been entirely built, with 40% private funding, and will serve as a safe crossing for mountain lions and dozens of other species.

lol, No one is FURIOUS at all, actually.

    • U.S. Highway 101, the Venture Freeway, is one of the biggest barriers to wildlife connectivity in Southern California.
      • The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing will reconnect habitats and improve the health of the environment for many species in Southern California, including people.
    • More than 30 years of conservation work has gone into strategic habitat linkages on both sides of U.S. Highway 101 so that this wildlife crossing will connect protected lands in the Santa Monica Mountains.
    • This vegetated freeway crossing will help educate millions of Californians / visitors driving under the crossing insofar as California’s conservation efforts, ensuring that wildlife can move across conserved habitats that provide shelter, food and water.

Tinfoil can't read, it will cost ~~ $115 Million, approximating 1.5 hours of Iran War

Mountain Lions, Coyotes, Bears, Deers, etc. will be crossing the vegetated freeway overpass
