It will be tough. I think they have two years before they have to do his big contract (assuming he's the same player.) Going to be hard to invest major dollars in two cornerbacks.

Not any harder than investing major dollars in two OT

    Oh, wait...

Yeah 3rd CB is a sneaky need even though J. Smith is coming back. I would try to get a vet min guy and draft a developmental guy, unless the value in the draft pick is good enough that say you wait a guy like Jermod McCoy looked so good at his pro day workout you would have to pick him at 1-28. . I hope Meco/Caserio dont do this but I could see them risking 1-28 on Caleb Banks because if healthy he's a game changer.

I was just thinking that....Nick is not afraid to draft a high talent player that is injured and dropped to 28. He'll probably drop to 38.

Don't think it deserved it's own thread... but interesting.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris reports that the Cowboys are discussing potential trades for Dolphins LB Jordyn Brooks and Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair.
Harris isn’t the only reporter who believes that the Cowboys are still on the hunt for new defenders. In a report from earlier today, ESPN’s Todd Archer mentions Brooks and Al-Shaair as well, while also bringing up Steelers LB Patrick Queen as a possibility. Harris disagrees on the latter player, saying on social media that the Cowboys have “pivoted off Queen,” though he believes the inside linebacker position “gets addressed in the trade market.” In a mock draft published today, Harris links LSU CB Mansoor Delane to the Cowboys at pick No. 12 and Clemson EDGE T.J. Parker at pick No. 20. Brooks totaled 125 solo tackles and 19 TFLs. Al-Shaair totaled 74 solo tackles and five TFLs. Stay tuned.

Would you trade Azeez? What compensation would you want, if so?

I wouldn't do it for less than a 2nd (or equivalent value).

It would have to be an offer you can’t refuse. Our defense suffered when he was out. Unless you feel you have his replacement I can’t see it.

Azeez is Meco's coach on the field, unless its a deal too good to be true I don't see this happening. Think if a team approached Rockets for FVV before his injury, Ime would be like "No way!"
