Anthropic chief says AI could surpass “almost all humans at almost everything” shortly after 2027

    https://arstechnica.com/ai/2025/01/...mans-at-almost-everything-shortly-after-2027/

This is from a WSJ interview posted on youtube, but they didn't have a good article on it, so found this.

and they want zero AI regulation for the next 10 years in their Big Bullsh*t Bill

I agree that this should be 100% illegal and come with jail time

this is just another way to spread lies and propaganda and further erode this country

Yea people are humans, we are dynamic and can certainly be more problematic than robots at times.

I just can't stop thinking of the seemingly glaring question, what happens to us people? A small number of the owners of production implement high level AI/robotics/tech advancement to achieve such great efficiency that you can mass replace humans in the work force.

Okay, where do people earn money? Who is able to buy things from Amazon if nobody has a job?

Great efficiency is a legitimately beautiful and wonderful thing, as long as "externalities" are accounted for, because if the outcome isn't an improvement for human life, what are we doing?

    For this particular case
Amazon doesn’t need a state of the art t-1000 replacement model
    Maybe just a roomba

Communism. The free market capitalists don't know the trouble they are causing themselves.

Or they do know what they're causing, its calculated, and they don't believe they are at sufficient risk of succumbing to people lead political uprisings or societal chaos due to their relative positions and abilities.

Maybe I'm just a dejected pessimist, but I have a pretty hard time seeing the ordinary folk winning a modern french revolution.

Maybe individuals are insulated. But I don’t see how billions of people with no viable way to eat and seek fulfilling lives fails to grab control by the scruff of the neck. I’m not saying it will be a good thing at all either. It would perpetuate suffering. But what can’t be the end-state is a world in which billions of people have no way to share in the wealth humanity generates.

An AI model is released to the wild. Within 3 months, "ordinary" folks figure out all kinds of ways to use it in unusual / unexpected / more optimized / etc. ways. And they share it with the community (otherwise, how would we know :))

I could imagine quite a few ways they could fail.

My gut feeling is the greatest threat to the elite will be infighting with other elites. Maybe that could create a path for the people, or maybe it’ll be the end of the world lol.

Like I said, probably more dejected and pessimistic than most. Extreme ways to dictate the world are becoming increasingly more accessible with tech advancement and concentration of wealth-power.

Louis XVI probably thought the same of ordinary people.
