How does this war officially stop?

it’s been going on forever with no end in sight

Putin won’t back down, Ukraine won’t back down, but Russia doesn’t seem to have the power to finish them off. So where do we go from here?

Political collapse in one country or the other resulting in a new government that (hopefully) wants to make a deal. On the Russian side I guess it'd be more like a coup.

Much of it is reliant on the US and then Europe. Trump is the gift that keeps on giving to Vlad.

If Trump destroys NATO once and for all which could happen sooner than later with the Iran s-show, perhaps that actually frees Europe to be more aggressive with a new European alliance. If I was a European alliance leader I’d also try hard to include Australia, Japan, and Canada. Then that new alliance could take more decisive action to truly help Ukraine.

But the strength of a new European alliance really depends on how fast Germany can restart their military industry since Europe has relied on US military industry since post WW2. However Germany seems to be taking action to restart their industry with Trump and an increasingly fascist USA forcing their hand for independence.

If Germany gets up and running in the next year or two than that is a huge difference maker and one that could produce the weapons needed to push Russia out of Ukraine.

Knowing Trump though he’ll probably want to go to war with Germany over it and start a new fiasco. I don’t think people really understand just how in the tank Trump is for Putin and how detrimental it is for global peace all because this f-ing creep at some point got compromised by a Russian spy.

If Putin dies, there is a 50/50 chance that the war stops ... probably a negotiated treaty that allows both sides to claim a limited victory.

If Ukraine reestablished its pre-2014 borders, it is better than 50/50 that Russia winds down the war ... probably claiming that they killed all of the gay Nazis in Ukraine or some such. Russia will have to lose most of their military assets for them to retreat from post-2014 gains. To try again, the Russian will have rebuild their military which will take years if not decades. While the Russians are rebuilding, Ukraine will join the EU and then NATO (or whatever NATO becomes when the US hits the exit).

Remember all the times Trump said he would end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours if elected? In case you need a reminder, here's the clips. His words, not mine....

no posts in a couple of weeks . . . is it possible the Ukraine war aficionados have lost interest in the subject?

$106 Billion Loan Reflects E.U.’s View That Peace in Ukraine Is Far Away
Unlike previous European assistance packages, this one is heavily weighted toward military spending, meant to put Ukraine on solid footing for a long fight.

Estimates are Russia has crossed the 350,000 mark for dead soldiers. Best estimate now stands at 352,000. I think that is just Russians and does not include North Koreans who are fighting on Russia's behalf. The best guess for North Koreans is about 2,300 out of the 11,000 sent so far.

By contrast, Ukrainian battlefield deaths are estimated at just under 16,000 while civilian deaths in Ukraine are just under 14,000.

363,000 lives to take 30,000 and have no major strategic advantage years after you started the war. Even if you are so twisted that you think civilian lives are legit targets in war, that's a horrible ROI.

No matter what happens from here on out...Putin has lost. Prolonging the war isn't going to change that. The war needs to f-ing end already. It's either stalemate or small gains by either side. WTF are you'll doing? Ukraine has the upper hand now. The idea that any Russian citizens still support this war is a bunch of crap. The fake poll over there showed support for Putin dropped from the 80th percentile to the 70th percentile. Yea...right!

I guess that would be really good news but we need to know what Russian troops actually do next. My guess is they say this while doubling their efforts to fortify the territory they’ve taken. Putin’s goal will be to populate the territory with as much Russians as possible if he can, and over time it’ll just be widely accepted that everything east of the river is “basically Russia.”

What Europe needs to do is tell Putin that they need to withdraw all of their troops or risk conflict with nato troops as they WILL BE sending troops from Poland, Finland, France, Germany, etc. for several weeks TO UKRAINE on a peacekeeping mission to survey and assess damage from the war, and help instill a demilitarized zone along the Russian/Ukraine border.

Then we’ll see how serious Putin is about actually ending the “special operation.” My guess is he then lashes out and we’ll find out pretty quickly that he’s not serious about retreating. But call his bluff. Europe needs to get involved or else Putin will just keep going until he’s dead.
