I've been hearing about Google's Gmail service for a while. 1Gb of space, extensive search features, spam filtering, etc. However, while it's in beta, the only way to get an account is through an invitation. Anyone have an invitation they can spare? Rather than buy one off ebay for a dollar or so, I'll donate $5 to the ClutchBBS tipjar in your name. ---- EDIT ---- I just got my gmail account, but no invitations to give yet. I'll edit this portion every day or so, to try and keep it current. Once I get invitations to send out, I'll start with this list. Post in this thread if you've received an invitation, so that we don't duplicate invitations. For my invitations, I'll give priority to Contributing Members, but others are free to do as they choose. Anyone know when they are going to allow registration without an invite? Id like to use it but not nearly motivated to hunt down an invite.
No, it's to avoid spam. There are automated ways to harvest email addresses off the web. Although posting xxx at xxx dot com instead has probably been figured out by now.
