You’re forgetting the hidden benefit of injecting OKC with cancer and taking away their opportunity to find another diamond in the rough, which they are actually good at.
I don’t get why people are so hyped up about AJ Dybansta. Doesn’t seem to have great handling, no burst off the dribble or speed north south. Not a great playmaker. I don’t see it.
Can't wait for CFers to start hyping up tonight's 2nd round pick as the next {insert former All-Star here}, only to have him be a Viper for the next 2 or 3 years before being signed by another team, cut soon after, and eventually playing in Europe for a few years before retiring at age 25. It's as sure as the swallows returning to San Capistrano.
okc last 2 first rounders. One doesn’t have balls and other tore his acl before playing a game. I wonder what route they go now.
I hope we trade back in... I guess there's precedent, with the Sengun trade. Even just to sneak in and grab somebody who falls, or for a dark horse player who could turn out to be an all-star like Sengun did (cough, Okorie).
Emanuel Sharp is an absolute Ime profile. I like him in the second round. Keep him in Houston. Could be the perfect rotation guard with upside. He just gets better every year. Lots of work ethic.
Nick Martinelli has the potential to be a Shamet type player. The 2nd round is full of seniors who lack raw talent and have to make up for it with intelligence and work ethic. Houston players, UConn players, Villanova players tend to stick in the NBA because of their high basketball IQ because of the way their programs are run. The only first round player that interests me is Dailyn Swain, as I have watched him change the game against top talent with very little talent supporting him. I'd trade up for him.
Yep, not having a 1st rd pick sucks. This is how it felt every year when Morey was the GM. At some point I wish the Rockets management would use the same road map as OKC and San Antonio. Both accumulated a number of picks to surround one really good player that was brought in via a trade. Both teams have a number of young talented players that will be around for the next decade, making them contenders for some time. And, yes, adding young talent via the draft gives fans something to get excited about. Running it back with the same lame rosters downright depressing
The truth is, we just drafted poorly with our top picks the past 5 years. We chose Jalen Green, but could have had Mobley or Barnes instead. We chose Jabari, but could have had Jalen Williams instead, and we chose Sheppard, but could have had Stephon Castle instead... The only thing holding this together is Amen in a weak draft class (can't shoot), Sengun (can't shoot), and Tari (can't stay healthy)... FVV out for the season and DFS being one the worst Rockets FA signings in recent memory, it's a miracle we can still view ourselves as fringe "contenders" in the West...
Listen you son of a b****, Hartenstein went on to become a championship starting center after he played for the vipers and got waived show some god damn respect
He's a winner. Would be one of the very few options they still have to make this massive disappointment of a draft at least somewhat interesting.
