This board heavily overreacts to summer league performance. Remember after last season when we had 3 future All-Stars from our first round picks after the summer league...
I am rooting heavily for the following players (in order of personal preference): 1) Terrence Jones - A fav of mine. Someone I have high hopes for in he NBA. He has it all to be an impact player in a championship contender. He can guard 2s, 3s, 4s and some 5s. I love him. 2) Isiah Canaan - my sleeper pick. If he pans out, his skillset is needed in playoff game where premium is placed on guards that can create off the dribble, and score or setup someone else. He has a higher ceiling than Beverly (who I like a lot too). I just do not like Lin's game. I can live with Lin but if I hade a choice, I would start Beverly on opening day. 3) Robert Covington - the intrigue for me here is tremendous value he would give this roster is show potential. In the new CBA, we need players like BobCov to pan out with little hit on our cap.
I didn't realize we picked up Blue, Young and Covington..that's a good post-draft haul. All were worthy of going in the 2nd.
I'm excited to some Vander Blue and Canaan. And of course Bev. Basketball never stops and I absolutely love it.
Koopa can't play because the T-Rob trade cannot be finalized until July 10th. For those wanting to see Furkan A, he isn't on the Rockets roster so healso cannot play, expect him to come over after Dwight signs, because 2nd round picks count against the cap, as they have no cap hold.
Names PG Casper Ware G Vander Blue SG Toure' Murry C Jack Cooley If nothing else, our team has the guys with the coolest names.....
Yes Beverly will be focused on D but make no mistake about it Isaac is and always will be the better offensive player and it ain't even close.
I believe they are going to be on NBA TV. I've got all of them already set to record on my Directv DVR unless they black them out or something.
