Think the director had some personal things to take care of, so things were on hiatus. Looks like they might be finally going back to it.

 

I remember liking the first movie, but 5 1/2 years later is crazy. It's been so long, I'd prefer another season of The Penguin.

 

Matt Reeves, who did the first The Batman, also did the Penguin series and is doing the second The Batman, which is basically a continuation of the Penguin series.

If that makes sense.
