Lol and who is going to lead us? Our turnstile of a center or our brick laying “untouchable point guard”?
The Rockets have the talent, they just don't have the coaching. You'd have said the same thing about a team with Brunson and KAT a year ago.
Stop it. Brunson and KAT are SIGNIFICANTLY better than Senturnstile and the Bricklayer. You don’t even have to guard them outside of the 18 feet.
Doesn’t the change the fact that they are both three level scorers and our best young players are 1 level scorers at best. They’ve been around for a few years now and appear to have plateaued. Amen “My outside shot doesn’t have a prayer” Thompson shot sub 20% from 3 this year ( or damn close to it).
We have a team full of bricklayers. that cannot be stated enough We had a bench that got outscored by Nepo James in a playoff game Fix that bench first
Brunson at his worst is better than Bricklayer at his best. Brunson actually worked in his game instead of skating by on raw athleticism.
Neither of these statements are true. Amen obviously isn't as good as Brunson right now as an overall player, but you don't have to resort to hyperbole to make that point. The one thing we know for 100% certain about both Thompson twins is that they live and breathe basketball and are obsessed with getting better. Don't confuse results with process. Some players just pick up basketball skills (namely jump shooting in this case) more easily than others. As far as the other statement--Amen had a handful of games where he played better than Brunson's season averages this year, let alone Brunson's worst games of the season. So no, Brunson at his worst is not better than Amen at his best. In any case, the one thing that does give me some hope is that it's much easier to envision one of our players developing into a Jalen Brunson level of guy than, say, SGA. Brunson was nothing special when he first came into the league, spent his first four seasons as a roleplayer level guy, has never made an All-NBA first team, was never a top MVP contender with any real chance at winning that award. If he can turn himself into a Finals MVP, who knows? Sure wish I had any trust in our player development staff, though.
this is who beat the Spurs btw… the Rockets would lose to almost every playoff team in either conference
Yes, the Spurs can be beaten. By the KNICKS. That doesn’t mean some random mid-tier team can beat them.
Rockets had a better regular season than the knicks and that’s what really counts. We have Fred Van Brunson returning for us. Stephen Towns and OG Kevin Duranty.
