i was aware of the incident, but didnt really look into the details till today. so anthony went under the opposing teams tent to get out of the rain at a track meet. the kid who got killed kept telling him to leave and them shoved him and thats when anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed him. even though the other kid initiated the confrontation and physically assaulted him i can see how the jury came back with murder. anthony was definitely assaulted first, but his life was clearly not in danger when he killed that kid. he wasnt being beat up or anything when he stabbed him. however, it doesnt sound like it was premeditated murder. maybe that will come into play with sentencing. i dont think he should get life in prison, but he could probably be looking at 20 years. its a sad situation all around. one kid is dead and anothers life is ruined.

I haven’t followed this story much in recent weeks but holy crap does it have the maga snowflakes animated as hell. For some reason you guys get all in a feeding frenzy over the most random sh$t. I’m assuming the jury pool was based in Allen right? Also the parents of the kid who got killed did a number right after it happened to shape the narrative publicly I recall. So yeah it was always going to be a tough jury pool for Anthony but that doesn’t mean they didn’t follow the facts, and make a conviction based on the law. IMO a murder conviction isn’t surprising. If they get an insane amount of prison time in the sentencing though I think that’ll be a bit over the top. The Allen elites and his parents are going to pressure for a life sentence and I think that’s going too far since imo it looks like a fight that got out of hand more than premeditated murder. Still deserves some real jail time but not life.
He should get life. Nothing less. He’s a cold blooded killer. Just like if a white guy stabbed a black guy.
