This was the easiest verdict in quite some time -- the case against Anthony was overwhelming. We are sick and tired of the violence -- the justice system did its job and I am hopeful that this case acts as a deterrent for future urban violence. Too many youth are dying because of a lack of accountability and impulse control. We could be such a better society if we could stop urban violence. GOOD DAY
You sound like Trump. It's only fair if you get what you want. The jury is chosen cooperatively by both sides. There's nothing to cry foul about in terms of the state's handling of the case.
if they could do this too a 3.9 gpa student, with a disability who has never been in a fight in his life. These mfers are saying a kid with epilepsy who by the states on record in court is 75 LBS lighter would physically challenge an in shape 6'1 210 lb manchild to a fight IN THE RAIN, where he could be seriously hurt. Then you mfers would believe anything
I don’t know why that matters. But to answer your question, witnesses said he was there to escape the rain.
The testimony does not support your accusations at all. Karmelo Anthony was not bullied -- HE was the one entering another teams tent and provoking a response... HE was the one who refused to move... HE was the one who said "touch me and find out". He wanted a conflict. Probably because he prepared for one by bringing a knife to a track meet. A young man was murdered by Anthony -- and it was totally avoidable had Anthony not begging for a confrontation and not brought a knife to a track meet. Violence is obviously a terrible problem among urban youth and we must find a way to save these youth from making these mistakes. This death should not have happened, and this likely lifetime incarceration shouldn't have happened. GOOD DAY
I understood it that he was also invited/beckoned by a mutual acquaintance. If I lived in Texas, I'd now be asking myself... what level of assault do I have to endure before I am allowed to defend myself, especially with a weapon?
It is avoidable, and I think the culture around “stand your ground” is bad. It feels too unbalanced, placing less responsibility on one side while devaluing human life. This is an isolated incident, but I have a few problems about how the law handles these types of cases: Stand Your Ground laws are flawed and invite escalation A 17-year-old is not an adult and should not be treated as one in the legal system
It matters because he ended up killing another kid from the opposing school when he wasn't in his school's stands Escaping the rain? Seriously.? Because it resulted in a murder I'm sure everything matters
the ANCHOR BABY lied and said he didnt know karmelo and then it was exposed that he had several photos of him with karmelo and that was supposed to be the states star witness haha as for black and brown coalition MAN EFF THEM LA MIGRA come on Trump get rid of these parasites, you could deport 20 million of em and wouldnt nobody notice im loving the smoother traffic on 610.. now that ICE has DONE some work down in houston, they need to come back and get rid of these good for nothin political khameloens, they thought trump hated "da blax" and voted against the indian lady who would had them amnestied. Oh if they think they can mass vote for the dems down ballot and that will save them or reverse trump having them living in fear, they are in for a rude awakening. Stephen Miller has made sure that the 250-300+ executive orders that trump signed his first 3 weeks in office regarding immigration are just as if not more IRONCLAD than obamacare. SO IF YOU THINK THE DEMOCRATS will rescue you if they get in power.. FAT CHANCE.. THE SUPREME COURT WONT GO FOR IT
there were thunderstorms at a track event.. ie a RAIN DELAY karmelo was called up to to the bleachers to seek shelter with the anchor baby, and then was probably setup by the anchor baby who karmelo did not know were also friends with the metcalfs. the metcalfs were known for doing tactics like this in middle school to assert dominance over new kids who were new to the school. One of the anchor babies called the tactic "rocking em to sleep" or something like that
I have never objected to the phrase. I'm just a live and let live guy. Don't give two shites about anyone's skin color. And I'm kind of sad that I have to proclaim that. But I'm a simple man that has become so sadly callous from the daily onslaught of situations like this being a headline over mass shootings we see weekly. Anyone discussing what happened in Ohio last weekend?
The prosecution called 21 witnesses, many of whom were eye witnesses. The defense called 6 witnesses, none of whom were eye witnesses. I'd bet good money that this was the deciding factor. With no video evidence and no defense witnesses present, the recollection of events for the jury was based entirely on the prosecution's witnesses. Anthony may have survived the encounter, but there was nobody there to corroborate his version of events.
almost none of them had a consistent story, almost like they were PREPPED AND COACHED none of the initial police statements said karmelo said "touch me an see what happens" why would a 150lb DISABLED kid challenge a 6'1 210 lbs lineback who apparently also was trained in martial arts to a fight in the RAIN use your brains KARMELO from his own supervisor at his foot locker job described KARMELO as a lover not a fighter, and as someone who was "scared of his own shadow" more than likely had a seizure when asked to take the stand
