I think the accusation against Anthony is that he initiated the events because he was sitting in the other school's stands, I think they were all very close to each other under a tent in the stands because it was raining, therefore the claim is he was intentionally provoking a confrontation and then he so happens to have a knife and he stabbed Metcalf in the chest
Thought exercise for everyone: Imagine Anthony only wounded Metcalf. How do you feel now? Not to get political about this, but the modern right loves this mantra of "FAFO", stand your ground, etc. Curious how we see none of that chatter coming from the right wing here.

Our opinions are about what is just or unjust. The facts are about the legal standard, and I have yet to see one applying to this whole tent situation.

But the double standard applies the other direction too. All the controversial stand your ground cases have been an major escalation to relatively minor incidents. I can see the logic to not feeling safe being surrounded by people who are with the person pushing you. That said, I will always place the blame on the person that brings the weapon and chooses not to walk away from the confrontation. In every case, I've wanted the killer to go to jail. My views on their crimes are at different levels but that they all had culpability in the deaths of people that easily could have been avoided.
Indeed they can. This case is getting so much attention in part because of the lack of precedent and evidence, which puts the outcome very much in the hands of the jury's opinion.
