The box office outcome I anticipated without a solid charismatic actor in the lead.

Thinking about this, I would have written the story a little differently and had an older, more relatable lead be kind of a schlump on Earth then get a glow-up when he stumbles across the sword and gets transported to Eternia. It’s a trope, true, but I think it would have appealed to the older audience a little more. Obviously the younger audience gives zero ****s about this movie. Make it lighthearted and funny enough that kids can enjoy it and still want the toys.

    Oh well. Studios be studioin’

I can’t say I am interested at all. The 80s were 40+ years ago.

This was so damn good. This was everything I wanted the movie to be back in 87. You could tell that Travis Knight loved the source material and grew up with it. I hope that we get more after this, and its not just a one off. Lead actor killed it and I cannot believe I am saying this, but so did Leto as Skeletor.

I think they also missed the boat on 80’s nostalgia. The trend is 90’s now.

I’ve heard great things about it so far.

I can't believe this lost to scary movie at the box office. I guess gen z doesn't give a damn about he-man cause they love them some horror movie. As a millennial my myself, this he-man movie is actually the best star wars movie since rogue one. There are some battle scenes that reminded me of return of the Jedi.
I would watch 8 he-man movies over the marvel nonsense any day of the week .

Leto is pretty unrecognizable in this so he gets a pass. You could've had any actor in the skeletor role since he's behind a mask and altered voice.

Ditto on losing out to Scary Movie 6, which was awful, MOTU was actually more fun than expected. It could have been trimmed by 30 or 40 mins but there was a lot of great stuff in there especially if you grew up with the cartoon. I'd be down for another entry if they decide to make another one....
