The 3 positives for me: The inclusion of the championship mustard The incline of the Houston/Rockets letter way Finally incorporating the dunkstronaut (even though its only at the waistline) Hopefully the Rockets can build on those positives for the next jersey design :sigh:
I still don't like the black one, but they are growing on me the more I look at them. I definitely prefer them to my latest white with red Sengun jersey, which is one of the most generic jerseys I think I've ever seen. I'll probably buy the red one.
I’m not a fan of the 90s pinstripe fad. We tried it. It failed. Unnecessary to bring back. Glad to have the traditional colors and font back. Wish Houston was on the red and Rockets on the white. Did they explain why the switch? Overall better than what we had but not a 100% success.
Guessing it is because most teams don't wear white at home anymore. So both the OG jerseys and the new ones have HOUStON (actually Houston) on the away jerseys.
Every time I see all the leagues logos on one screen, and I look at that stupid R for the Rockets that looks COMPLETELY out of place with all the rest, I get pissed off. How can they look at that stupid letter and think that it looks like the logo for an NBA franchise in the greatest league in the world. It looks absolutely stupid and embarrassing. I can't imagine what all other NBA fans think when they see it. I would just scoff and think shi|ty franchise if I wasn't a fan. I'm already half way there and that logo is a part of why I feel that way. The marketing department is full of crap.
The Rockets should have just stuck with the Westbrook/Harden Jersey there. Those are perfect. WTH is their problem?
Not that these morons would have the good sense to use those anyway, but pretty sure those jerseys would be subject to the rule about not reverting to classic branding. You could only bring them back as a special edition.
I like the colors, the jerseys, the dunkstronaut. I even like the triangle logo. I would have preferred they just go back to the original logo but based on the interview they're not allowed to. Let's he honest, you already have that one.
Funny thing is, they already had a "mission patch" logo they could've used, one that shows much more creativity than the triangle design. Just make a few adjustments to the colors and layout.
Yeah. Not to pile on, but these are really bad. Someone obviously came up with the idea of using a little bit of everything done before and nobody had the stones to say it was a bad idea. Classic organizational yes man group think.
