It's always been like this. 50% is being nutless and 50% is him not comprehending what's going on. We should have replays and ABS now to protect us and do what doofus can't but we somehow fk those up too.

I'm hearing Josh Hader should be called up by the middle of the 2028 season.

He is now the odds on favorite to win Reliever of the Year in the PCL for 2027.

It was 5 walks coming into yesterday, not 4, and he had hit 3 batters. So in 8.2 innings, he had allowed 8 baserunners due to command issues. WHIP is a stupid stat because it doesn’t even factor in HBP so that sparkling 1.04 WHIP isn’t telling the actual story.

In 9 innings in May, he only has 7 strikeouts. Once again, his velocity is still way down. Not a single pitch above 96 mph yesterday. He threw one fastball at 92 mph. Does that sound like Abreu to you? I don’t care what he’s done in the past.

His xFIP this month is over 6. Just because he’s lucked his way into a decent stretch doesn’t mean he’s been pitching well and deserves to be thrown into a one run game.

Obviously Joe doesn’t have much faith in him either because his ass was out of the game as soon as the three batters were up. Guaranteed he leaves last year’s version of Abreu in the game. So what the hell is he doing in the game in that situation to begin with then?

There is something physically wrong with Abreu. His velocity is terrible. He's not effective under 97 mph.

Espada would be a decent manager for a team full of vets but he's terrible for a team with young players. He's just not very bright.

Okay. Four HITS, not walks. You're only calling WHIP stupid right now because it's convenient. It does account for hits and walks -- both of which are pretty telling stats. Walks this board has complained about all season, and rightfully so. Then, his ERA was ZERO for the month.

Who do you suggest be the setup guy?

Who did the board suggest pitch in REAL-TIME while it was happening?

    Santa could be a candidate.

What’s the difference between a walk and a HBP? You’re just ignoring 3 HBPs in 8.2 innings by using WHIP there. If he had hit 20 batters in those 8.2 innings his WHIP would still have been 1.04. So yes, in this case WHIP is a stupid stat.

Once again, that’s 8 free passes in 8.2 innings and he hasn’t been striking out anyone. That’s a recipe for disaster in a one run game. If he’s truly been “so good” because of your logic that he hadn’t allowed a run all month, then why pull him after three batters? If he was truly himself, wouldn’t he be your best bet for the strikeout that was needed to keep the lead?

If you’re willing to have Bryan King warming and coming in to clean up his mess in the 8th, just let him pitch the entire two innings. He ended up doing it anyway.

I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing what we have in Santa either if you want to just roll the dice.

The vets are more likely to realize he’s not very bright though. He’s not a good manager for any team.

Idk maybe. He constantly puts himself in difficult positions and then reacts by over managing the **** out of the game.

Damn near every game Abreu pitched in May was close, 1-run games included. Tonight was no different. You don't just let King pitch 2 innings because of maintenance. Hader was only going multi IP during the 9th and 10th -- but the best-case plan was one inning then the Astros finish bottom of the same inning.

Let Santa get the 8th day of Xmas.

Abreu was a terrible choice because Milwaukee is a disciplined team that forces pitchers to throw strikes.

Perfect example of Joe being a terrible manager.

Great. We should have forfeited the 8th since you didn't suggest another option.

Hit leadoff yesterday so this is a natural progression.

Joe will have him hitting 8th tomorrow.
