Adam Morrison was a type 1 diabetic. He dominated the NCAA while at Gonzaga. And was the 3rd overall pick in the NBA. I'm a type 2 diabetic myself. And it does not inhibit me in any way. Just One pill every morning. Janek is struggling but ya can't blame it on the shugah. These fellows are good major league players playing with type 1 diabetes. Mason Miller. Jordan Hicks. Lots of type ones out there.
not that I disagree with what you’re saying but did Adam Morrison flame out pretty quickly in the NBA? also big difference between type 1 and 2 as far as the treatment, therapies, long term complications, etc but as long as you’re motivated and stay on top of everything you can obviously do very well
Other GTech guy, Ryan Zuckerman, is a ****ing beast. He just hit an oppo HR about 375ft down the line
Dana Brown speaking during today’s game said he was down scouting the SEC tournament earlier this week. GMs usually only personally scout potential high picks. SEC guys who could potentially be in the mix at 17 and 28: SS Justin Lebron, Alabama 2B Chris Hacopian, ATM OF Derek Curiel, LSU C Ryder Helfrick, Arkansas P Hunter Dietz, Arkansas P Cade Townsend, Ole Miss SS Tyler Bell, Kentucky OF Caden Sorrell, ATM OF Aiden Robbins, Texas 2B Chris Rembert, Auburn 3B Ace Reese, Miss St I am settling on the idea of Lebron or Bell at 17. I would be pretty happy with either of those guys.
I have watched the SEC tourney and I watched a couple of Texas games. Most of my opinions on the draft are based on reading and YouTube clips. Not an expert by any stretch.
Just reading blurbs here’s a 7 rd mock draft I’d be excited about: 1-17 SS Tyler Bell, Kentucky 1-28 3B Bo Lowrance, HS 2-57 SS Archer Horn, HS 3-93 RHP Carson Wiggins, Arkansas 4-121 RHP Kolby Stringer, HS 4-133 SS Tyson LeBlanc, Kansas 5-153 RHP Deven Sheerin, LSU 6-183 C Robbie Lavey, GWU 7-213 2B/LF Gavin Gallaher, UNC Bell is a riser so he might not be available. Alternatively Justin Lebrons stock is falling and I’d love him at 17. Otherwise there don’t seem to be any other players expected in that range that I’d be all that excited about; all the college hitters have pretty big warts and I don’t want Houston drafting a pitcher that high. Lowrance and Horn are 2 very high ceiling HS infielders I really like. There’s a big crop of HS IF with ceiling that should fit in the 20-60 range of the draft. All 3 of the pitchers on that list can get into triple digits (or damn close). Wiggins is coming off injury and would otherwise be a first or second round pick. Sheerin can throw 102. There are a LOT of pitchers who can throw 98-102 in this draft, and some good ones should be available into the 4th and 5th round. Lavey and Gallaher are high floor college bats with good hit tools, something Houston’s system really needs some help with.
