Watching this Cavs/Knicks series, I could see the Cavs wanting to improve their point guard play: FVV/second round picks for Schroeder/Merrill The Cavs get a solid veteran point guard in FVV to backup Harden. We get a solid backup point guard in Schroeder and much needing 3pt shooting with Merrill. Let Reed cook next season as our starting point guard!
Sengun would make the Hornets too good, thats a top 4 seed in the east. Those picks would be in the 20s
Sengun and Capela to LAC 1st to LAC from Cle 2029 1st to LAC from Houston Kawhi to CLE 2031 top 5 protected 1st from Houston FVV to CLE #5 to Houston Mitchell to Houston
Sengun has had a disappointing season. His trade value was considerably higher after his impressive defense against GS in the last season’s 1st round playoffs.
Wizards: Sengun, Amen, Tari, PHX 27 First, BKN 2027 First, Hou 2028 First, DAL 2029 First Rockets: AD, Wiz 2026 First(AJ)
Dude, Jared McCain was traded for one FRP and people said the Sixers got robbed. You can’t really think a two time all star who had one disappointing series is worth the same as a guy who is not even a 6th man on his team. We’re all disappointed with Sengun’s playoff performance but let’s be realistic about it.
I’m not expecting the package Indy gave up for Zub, but it’s got to be at least a good lotto pick and a good young prospect. I don’t think it’s worth trading Sengun for anything less. I’d rather just wait another season and see if he finally demonstrates real shooting progress. In fact, thsts now my preferred outcome absent a really good offer. We aren’t contending next season anyway so I’m not sure why we’d sell low on a top prospect just for fit. Getting back youth and/or draft picks is imperative if Stone decides to trade him.
That's too much even for the #1 overall. Bear in mind too that AD is straight-up a bad contract right now. Also Tari can't be traded in a package deal, has to be a SnT. With all of that said, I am curious what other people's limits would be on trading for the #1 pick if the Wiz were somehow to make it available. (I don't think they will, to be clear.) I would take back the AD contract for expirings, and give up a lot of draft capital like the above trade, but I would not give up both Sengun AND Amen. You still need to have a team even if you think Dybantsa--or one of the other guys we could get with that pick--is a true superstar-in-waiting.
I don't know if the trade that I put above could be fair but if would also snag Merrill while swapping DFS and something else. Adams Smith/Eason (re-signed) Durant/Merrill Mitchell/Reed/Okogie (re-signed) Amen/Acuff Leaves the need for a shooting 5 but maybe someone like Olynk is fine.
read through and revised… out Sengun in Miles (the pos of a human) & #14 ====>there is 12m difference between the two contracts <==== I haven’t seen much from the Frenchman they took with the 8th pick some years back. They resigned him but not much playing time for him. His draft report was much like our Smith’s but with a higher motor. Let’s pull him into the trade to get the numbers to work, Then instead of overpaying Easton, He can be moved in a sign and trade for an area of need and open up the rotation for Tidjane Salaun as he grows into himself.
I said this a while back Hornets would be a good option. Could stack the bench with role players like Grant Williams(39% 3pt & expiring), Salaun(prospect /Eason replacement), and Tre Mann with the #14 pick. Maybe #18 too if you can swing it
I don't know if it's enough for Sengun And I don't want Miles Bridges on this team (maybe if we buy him out) Maybe if they include Brandon Miller I could see it
I don’t want Miles either lol and we ain’t getting Miller. If they trading for Sengun then I’d assume they’re trying to pair Ball, Kon, Miller, and Sengun together. I’d be happy with the 14 & 18 along with a couple bench pieces like Williams, Salaun, and Mann I think we’d be in a good spot next year if we had the 14th, 18th, Nets & Phx 27’s along with getting off Senguns contract with FVV, Williams, and DFS expiring off the books too. Could off load KD next season too. That could leave us in a good spot with Amen, Jabari, maybe Reed, and 4 young prospects with our own 28’ pick for that year
Yeah it would be a lot of draft picks for sure. Just don't really like letting Sengun go without at least one true blue chip asset in the deal, either a high lotto pick or a high end prospect. I guess I can see it though
not giving up Sengun for a couple mid-round picks. I really think that’s selling way too low. Fortunately I’m confident there’s no way in hell Stone would give up Sengun for that return. Maybe the one thing Stone and I would agree on I’ll say it till I’m blue in the face, it is highly unlikely we get an all star level player out of that 2027 draft. Those 2027 picks don’t have much value. Both combined don’t have the value of a top 6-7 pick in this 2026 draft. Trading the 2025 and 2026 picks back to the Nets was a huge fail by Stone. We missed out on taking swings on the franchise plsyers at the top of those drafts, and even a mid-lotto pick in this 2026 draft is worth more than these crap 2027 picks. It’s so frustrating to hear folks talk about those 2027 picks as if they are really valuable. There’s a real chance those picks combined constitute only a 10% chance at #1, maybe a 13% chance…in a really bad draft.
Well with the big off season hype being the return of FVV those picks are all I have to look forward to lol
Embrace the hopelessness. It makes things easier we’re not going anywhere without new leadership in the front office. And now I fear most big moves will be in service of preserving jobs rather than the long term success of the team.
