I was going by this article https://www.si.com/nba/clippers/ons...acker-room-flexibility-offseason-01kpb7zat3q9
If all this is accurate and they can reasonably fill out the roster while keeping Kawhi, I’d love for the Rockets to execute your trade idea.
If that is viewed as a good deal for LAC, one should consider Giannis-to-Houston trades as good for Houston as Houston would not have to give up nearly as much to team up Giannis and Durant.
@OremLK that's some out-of-the-box thinking for sure. That is truly a big 3 for LAC. I love getting the #5 pick, but I'm not a huge Garland fan because of his chronic injury issues, which is a big reason the Cavs sent him to LAC. Taking him would also leave Clips without a great PG solution. If there's a way to get Turner and #5, without giving up Sheppard I'd love that move. Could Tari is a S-n-T be worked in?
If that's doable, I'd take that. Probably the best "move from KD" trade I've seen so far. By all report there's a lot of star potential in the coming draft, #5 seems like another opportunity to roll the dice on a young star to me.
Terrible trade... talking about availability, Garland and Myles Turner stays on the injury report! I rather hold on to Sengun because his trade value is not dropping off any time soon unless he sustains a career altering injury.
I guess I was looking at the #5 as the main feature of the trade, plus we get a competent PG and a defensive specialist stretch 5 that fits 2 needs for the squad. I genuinely don't hate it if we assume we're rolling the same coach etc. It's clear Ime doesn't know wtf to do with Sengun, and as much as I am a fan of Sengun (own more #28 jerseys than any other current roster member) I just don't see him working out here without either a big personnel change or a big coaching change.
Rockets: Memphis 3 Pick: Cam Boozer Memphis: Amen Thompson, PHX 2027 First, BKN 2027 First, DAL 2029 First Weak Draft next year, and paying Amen 250 million is nuts
Ime definitely is not getting optimal production from his players...I wouldn't mind running it back with our same core with a few adjustments such as: 1) upgrading our point guard position 2) our needs to be a bunch of snipers. 3pt shooters! 3pt shooters! 3pt shooters! 3) need an athletic backup center
Let's just hope Stone was lying at the press conference I guess, I fear we're getting "run it back with FVV and Adams and no coaching changes" like they said. Sigh.
What will it take to get to # 5 and get Acuff? I realize it is kind of shifting the future plans for Amen and Reed but Acuff looks very good in the limited exposure. I have to him. To LAC Sengun To Houston Bogdanovic Jones Lopez #5
I love having a front office where your best hope is "they're blatantly lying to all of the fans". Real fun.
I don't really care about the top 3 or 4, I'm not sold on any of them being a superstar for whatever reason - be that durability, work ethic or something else. What I do want is in the 5-6-7 range where there's 3 point guards who don't have a lot of holes in their game and that can shoot the lights out. I love dudes that can shoot, pass and dribble .... unlike most of our current roster. Acuff jr. .484 / .440 / .809 2.90 A/T Wagler .445 / .397 / .796 2.33 A/T Flemings .476 / .387 / .845 2.88A/T
That's a damn good trade, probably would have to throw in next year's Brooklyn pick to get LA to bite
I dunno why everyone is so high on Cam Boozer. I do think he'll be a good player but I don't see superstar. People see the name ...
Agreed. He has been hyped for years. Good player, but more of Jabari Smith Jr. than a Wemby. Would love to have him next to Jabari though. Imagine a frontcourt of Ware, Boozer, and Jabari. Sengun and 27 Phx, 27 nets, for 3 and then KD for Ware and Herro. Amen, Herro, Boozer, Jabari, Ware. Lots of cap space for Ayo or NAW, etc. Young, athletic with great shooting and rebounding. Showtime re-visited.
Oh, I think Boozer will be much better than Jabari. I'm not sure if he'll be a "superstar" (he has a chance though), but I think he will be very, very good, and make more than a couple of all-star games. Keep in mind the dude is not even 19 yet, what he's done already at age 18 is nuts. He might even grow taller, too. This is a weird pull but in some ways he reminds me of Sengun, except he already has the jump shot locked down, and is probably better defensively than Sengun was at the same age. But otherwise a similar package in the sense of footwork, feel for the game, etc. I would agree that Amen + three FRPs is way too much to give up for him though. I would do Amen straight-up, and would at least think about Amen + 1 FRP. The latter would be my absolute limit.
Tari Eason SNT + 1 2027 pick (top 10 protected) for Matas Buzelis. The Bulls want Eason. The Rockets need more skilled players. The Bulls have cap space to sign Tari to an offer sheet, just let them have him.
