I am going to bet this is the medical red flag that caused Mets and Giants to nix contract w Correa. I thought this was big enough news that it warranted its own thread. If not, pls fold into 2026 season discussion. Edit: I’m wrong, the medical red flag was his right ankle. Today’s development is his left ankle.
and it happened during pre-game batting practice............. not a game. practice. not a game. PRACTICE
This is a pretty pessimistic attitude. Yordan too? Lets just give up on the season at the 1st of May.
“Astros general manager Dana Brown met with manager Joe Espada to discuss the injury to Carlos Correa. According to reports, during the meeting Espada suggested that the Astros reach out to Phil Garner to gauge his interest in coming out of retirement. Espada reportedly acknowledged it was an unconventional suggestion but felt it was the Astros best option. Witnesses claim Dana Brown was horrified and pointed out that Issac Paredes was an option and that Phil Garner passed away a few months ago at 75 years ago.”
Just like the article i read talking about this is the nail in the coffin with this rebuild from 2016. Time to rebuild again. It was just spilled over from last year. But i think ownership should go ahead next year and start pulling the plug, and look for prospects for the future. It was 10 years ago against the Baltimore Orioles when the rebuild started to take flight. Its been heck of ride........ Start consolidating your farm system again, maybe trade away few players on this roster, see what you can get for future prospects. Altuve should stick around and manage.
