I wouldn't appreciate the waste. I would appreciate it being finished under another president. If it isn't finished by the end of his term, I bet he tries to keep control of the project.

IMO it wouldn't be a waste to eradicate every legacy of the Trump Presidency the moment it is over.

If anyone thought the ballroom would be financed solely by private contributions and not taxpayer money, this might go a ways in disabusing you of that notion. To the surprise of not many, it sure looks like some taxpayer goodies are being thrown at the company doing the ballroom construction. We will eventually need a thorough forensic accounting of this whole project to see how much of that contributed money went into Trump's pockets and how much taxpayer money was put into it on the sly.

Note: This should not be anything close to a sensitive matter, but we all understand why it is, right?

Trump, talking today about the amazing work his pool guy is doing:

    Reflecting pool.

    Reflecting pond.

    Reflecting lake.

"Reflecting" is always part of it.

Senate Judiciary Committee just released their budget priorities, which include $1 billion for the ballroom. Not $10-20 million, not $60 million. Not $400 million. And certainly not private contributions. That's $1,000,000,000.00 of our taxes. From the beginning, the whole thing was a grift to stroke Trump's ego and line his pockets.

Your post makes no sense. Do you think the Senate Judiciary Committee controls the purse? Did you confuse your committees? And what is a "budget priority"? Is that legislation appropriating money? Of course it's not. How you then take those two gaffes and build a bridge to Trump personally profiting on the construction is anyone's guess. None of your post makes sense. Literally none of it.

Americans are getting a beautiful and needed ballroom at zero taxpayer expense. And somehow liberals find a way to complain! Democrats latching onto this issue is just bizarre -- and damaging to their credibility. I'm consistently amazed at how emotions cloud their judgement!

If Obama accepted private donations for his own pet projects at the White House you'd **** your diaper ten times over, so pipe down.

The USA is hosting banquets for world leaders in temporary tents on the grass -- that's not acceptable in any way, shape, or form. And it's not secure. The ballroom is an asset that the USA will benefit from for 100 years. It does not belong to Trump. And the taxpayers pay nothing for it... and have an all-time leading real estate developer handling the vision. That's a win for America -- any way you cut it.

Liberals look like deranged fools by opposing America's ballroom!

LOL. From entirely private to $1 billion in taxpayer funding. These guys are on a drunken spending spree. Meanwhile, little Johnny can’t get his medicine. The GOP says we can’t afford that and must cut domestic spending for the poor.

Fox News: "Senate Republicans tucked an eye-popping figure into funding for security measures tied to President Donald Trump's ballroom, a project the administration once touted as being completely privately funded. The GOP released legislation for its immigration enforcement-focused reconciliation package late Monday night, setting the total spending at $72 billion. But it also included $1 billion in taxpayer funding for the ballroom addition to the White House."

It is only nonsensical if you don't know how anything works.

After receiving the President's Budget, CBO estimates, and going through the Budget Committee, other committees, like Judiciary, recommend budgets for their areas of oversight. This is formally called a Views and Estimates Report. The purpose of the report is to identify the committee's budgetary priorities and interests for the upcoming fiscal year. Those reports are forwarded back to the Budget Committee.

As the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 states:

...each committee of the Senate having legislative jurisdiction shall submit to the Committee on the Budget of the Senate its views and estimates (as determined by the committee making such submission) with respect to all matters set forth in subsections (a) and (b) which relate to matters within the jurisdiction or functions of such committee.

What is actual nonsense is your contention that the ballroom will be built at "zero taxpayer expense" when you have Republicans in Congress wanting to put $1 billion into the budget for that very purpose.

next Dem President should immediately destroy the ball room and return the waste of taxpayer funds back to the people

remove every single vestige of Trump from the WH, remove his name and face from every single thing you possibly can, and demand that your DOJ charge all the criminals in this regime and show no mercy at all

Only problem is they're gonna get pardons at the end of his term. They need to actually legislate and make new laws so these degenerates can be prosecuted on the state level.
