Good pieces, no superstars other than Durant who is an aging asset. Sucks, but that’s the reality. Expect moves to rectify that this offseason
You're blatantly lying and i'm starting to get really mad. If you keep going this way i'm going to block you. Maxey's games before Embiid's return: 8/20, 11/28, 12/31. After Embiid: 7/14, 10/18, 11/22. He was very inefficient pre-Embiid. Banchero had one 45 point game and struggled in the others. He went 7/17, 6/17, 4/18, and 4/20 in this series. Nobody avoids playing defense. Everyone on this team tries as hard as they can. You still don't get it. Bad spacing hurts Sengun and Amen's games because they rely on driving to the rim. The opposing center walls up in front of Sengun and when he tries to spin or drive past, defenders can easily swipe the ball away or collapse on him. Sometimes that alone is discouraging enough to make him keep his dribble alive longer. This happens because they stay packed in near the paint close to the center since our shooters aren't respected enough to be tightly guarded on the perimeter.
-Amen is a keeper. Hes good at everything except shooting, yet he has a shooters touch. I think his 3pointer will eventually develop and hopefully while he is still here. Dont trade him -Alpi is pretty good. He needs a midrange jumpshot and quit complaining after every single shot he takes around the rim. Also needs to work on his erky jerky style. I dont like seeing that. Trade him or keep him, idc. -Jabari needs to work on his handles for those situations when hes not open or can't pass. He should focus on being a 3 and D type of player. Playmaking secondary. Keep him -Sheppard needs another year of development. He's got quick hands, can shoot lights out sometimes when he gets hot, otherwise he's not that great. Needs to work on shooting. Hes not quick off the dribble. He cant shed a defender without a screen so needs to worknon his handles. Keep him another year. Tari- good defense, streaky shooter. Showed his colors when he didn't want to sign an extension, meaning hes looking for big money. Trade him or let him go to the highest bidder. Keep him if hes willing to take a team friendly deal. Durant- we know who he is. Keep Adams-keep FVV- Keep atleast 1 more year. Everyone else can be upgraded, but I would keep Okogie if possible
Actually offensive to some of these players tbh. Reed isn't even a fraction of JJ even in his early shitty years if we go by the shooting perentages (worse TS% than Jalen Green last season in his playoff run FYI) Battier was a supremely high IQ defender, Bari? Yeah that's a miss comp tbh. Thybulle's never shot as bad as Amen ever, even at his absolute worst. We actually drafted players who are WAY worse than the people you mentioned.
It was pretty obvious to me this team was going nowhere when we stopped tanking after failing to get #1 overall picks year after year. Our closest was #2 Jalen who Stone completely fumbled when teams after us picked better players. In the old lottery system, if you tank you gotta commit hard, we had to tank more years but people got tired of waiting even though we never drafted a franchise level player. Now with the new lottery odds changes, we can't even tank. Instead you have to hoard picks and hope one of them land. Right now we're stuck in no mans land. Perennial 1st round exit every year means we have terrible lottery odds with no way to get better since we're going to be in the luxury tax this off-season.
Ok, Bari's a bit like a Harrison Barnes/Rashard Lewis hybrid, though maybe lesser than the 2. Amen still resembles a young Iggy more than any of the other comps they give him though even that's harsh on Iggy because he actually had an NBA level jump shot - Amen doesn't. Amen really doesn't have a true comp because most players with his natural gifts don't have r****ded parents or coaches so they actually learn basic fundamentals in a way the twins clearly didn't. Alpi looks more like Sabonis than any other player in the league, like really a lot like him, though Sabonis is a slightly better shooter. Reed...this is trickiest one, he's not lived up to the elite shooter hype to be compared to JJ, maybe someone like Kirk Hinrich I reckon's not too bad a comp, though even then I may be being too kind based on what Reed currently is.
Luckily, nobody on the Rockets is getting paid like a franchise player either. Even Durant has a geezer superstar discount contract.
Just not really similar at all, he really did live up to the Sabonis comps with worse shooting sadly rather than being baby Joker
Cade Cunningham is what a young, legitimate franchise player looks like none of our guys even come close hell, even Scottie Barnes has looked way more impressive than any of our young core, and we could’ve drafted him
Died from congestive heart failure at 46 after arguing over a grocery basket in the Mariano’s parking lot on Archer Avenue. God rest his soul, I had Father Patruska put his name in the prayer jar. Thoughts an prayers.
Think about the fact we had the #2 pick…. and blew the pick, then got scared we over paid him on his extension and dumped him for salary filler in the KD trade. Now there are calls to trade Sheppard, another top lottery pick…. Lost the #10 pick for KD and then traded OUT of the 2026 draft when we had a lottery pick from the Nets. Look on the good side though, we spent all our cap space on old role players and old injury problem players. Good chance we double down on that strategy and get someone like Anthony Davis this summer. Then we will get to hear the front office claim they were a contender without injuries…. Even though they targeted injured old players. Rinse and repeat until Uncle Tilly gets pissed in a few years and dumbs Stoner and names Patrick as de facto GM and one of his drinking buddies as head coach.
They are arrogant - mixed with risk adverse, so everything they do ends up having limited upside. Maybe that Suns pick turns into some generational player in the lottery next year - but the odds say no.
