Rockets winning this game is the WORST thing that happened

I am not concerned so much about 2027 and the Rockets lottery pick - my point was that I would not measure success purely on maximizing wins in 2027. I would support trading some of the existing players for future lottery picks. I think the Rockets need a franchise player in the draft.

If ownership isn't agreeable to that -- then I would rather move the veterans and target players like Ayo Dosunmu or Quentin Grimes.... Ousman Dieng. These are younger players that have some upside and would fit with the existing group of young players.

Stone and Udoka are going to stay regardless.

The win is good. It shows that the young guys are still hungry. It also shows that we don't need Durant to hoard the ball.

Oh, and Aaron Holiday hitting 3s helped too.

 

This is the path I want as well. Build a real strong foundation based on youth and potential. And then let that group sink or swim. Don't get rid of all the vets, sprinkle them in, but can't rely on the "training wheels" forever.

 

I disagree. Even if we eventually lose in the first round, I want our young guys getting as many playoff wins and as much playoff experience as possible. I'm not sure they'll all be with the team next season, but it'll be useful experience for the players that are still here.

p.s. We need these guys to keep their trade value as high as possible in case some of them are moved (but please god, no Giannis next year unless it's in exchange for Durant).

I am not being negative. No team has ever come back down 0-3. Im being realistic. Winning at this point isnt even a win. The Lakers prob just want to win at home. Im not shocked you guys are calling me negative. When I called out the Durant trade as it was happening as not the right trade for us I was called negative here then too. The people who called me it cosigned each others bullshit just like right now. You people here arent positive youre delusional and unrelaistic.

I wasn't doing it on purpose. I guess I just misread or misunderstood the intent of your first post. I don't think it was clear from reading that post, but after reading this one, it sounds like you mostly agree with the OP then? You're saying the best outcome for this franchise and its future success is getting swept, because that would lead to harsher changes in the right direction? And any wins are just reducing the chance of getting those positive franchise changes? So that's why you're not happy?

 

I havent been happy with this team since they traded for Durant. Everything I predicted is coming true and has been for months now. So getting excited over a meaningless win in game 4 is silly to me but you do you. If we won last game and this one thats a reason to be excited. Winning this one just delays the inevitable. It extends the pain. We gave away our best defender/one of our leaders for a 1 year Durant rental and thats if we're lucky and they are smart enough not to bring KD back. There's no reason to be happy if youre a Rockets fan.

Well if Durant continues to sit out and the young players excel that proves your point as well. It’s a shame win-win situation!!

 

Based on past decisions I dont think they see it that way sadly. I think they think "Healthy Durant and Fred plus this young core OR GIANNIS equals chip" and they were and are dead wrong on that. Durant is old and toxic and he will be even more old next year. Giannis has become injury prone as well. It wont end well and we will have given all our assets on a bet that he and KD can win something together.

 

Rockets won the game with cancun cruz in the building. they might have beaten the biggest curse in sports.
