They manufactured lies to get impeachments in Democrat-controlled Houses... they cooked up the E Jean Carroll lies. They cooked up the 34 fake felonies (novel application of the law, treated as a misdemeanor punishable by a small fine in all prior occasions) to label Trump a felon. They tried to bankrupt him with fake business lawsuits and bogus defamation claims. And now they've tried to assassinate him 3 times.

Yes, and... the way we budget for and pick weapons systems is very much a Cold War legacy process. I think there are a bunch of smart folks in the Pentagon who recognize warfare has changed dramatically in the last 10 years, but everyone is hamstrung by an old Congress and the corporations/lobbyists that depend on those old approaches to funding. We found out in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Iran that superior tech and firepower don't win wars, yet our whole approach is to buy more tech and firepower, especially aerial firepower. Looks cool. Doesn't win. Plus, we identify a problem, apply a new tech to it, but never consider if that tech will increase the complexity of things or create additional problems. My ideal DOD budget bill would be much less prescriptive and much more focused on objectives, allowing the Pentagon to plan for future conflicts in a holistic way. Brains, not just booms, will win the next wars.
