What’s different about doing it in the NBA?

“Huh!” Sheppard said in a half-laugh, half-scoff to the question. “I mean, everything.”

VanVleet described the position using self-admitted cliches: The coach on the floor, the basketball version of a quarterback.

His explanation of the role offered more insight. It’s your job to get guys in the right spots, be the point of attack on defense and above all else, be the “thinker” on the court when deciding which weapons to use when.

The difference at the NBA level stems from increased responsibility and worry. Point guards have to get different players their shots against a variety of coverages while trying to score yourself.

“I’ve watched Fred play pretty much my whole life ... he’s been a great leader, especially for me, a great coach,” Sheppard said. “He’s just been able to show me different things and it’s easier to learn and get into it when it’s a guy like Fred and you watched him play and watched him do it.”

Funny how karma works, Ime calls Lebron a b**** and then gets b**** slapped for 4 straight games and publicly dragged through the mud for not doing anything beyond b****ing on the sidelines. People see him for who he is and at least I appreciate that. He turned the team around supposedly, but I believe Nick Nurse with FVV could've done that and then some.

it’s udoka’s fault Tate fouled a three point shooter late? Or Smith and Sheppard giving up the ball with seconds left? Or the team shooting 24% from 3 game 2?

Udoka intentionally put him in the game as a defensive specialist... Okogie was the better option.

Because he knew the future and that tate would foul a 3 pt shooter? You don’t know what Okogie would have done. Very easy in hindsight. Coaches make the decision based on a variety of reasons and unfortunately they can’t control everything a player does. If they could it would be a different story

I'd honestly give up my life savings to fast forward in time until this is a real thread and it comes after Udoka is fired.

Literally, without question, yes. A good coach isn’t playing Tate in that situation, so he wouldn’t be able to foul a 3 point shooter.

coaches aren’t miracle workers. They aren’t fortune tellers. Tate is a solid defender and can switch on lebron. At the end of the day it’s on the players to perform

It's ok bro, I know you're projecting because I've bent you over and put you in your place so many times.

How's that f'cking loser Jalen going who you jerk off to hahahhahaha. How embarrassing clown.

Everyone knows he'll be back next season, because the only person more incompetent in this organisation than Udoka, is the owner.

Who unwarranted, gave the clown a six year extension.

Was it really a six year extension? That’s a long time.

"Reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania and confirmed by multiple sources in June 2025, the new six-year extension makes Udoka one of the highest-paid coaches in the NBA, with an average annual salary of approximately $11 million"

Yeah, you don't get much worse of an ownership group than Tilman Fertitta.

This franchise is just honestly doomed, as we're seeing.

Bending me over? is your fantasy? who’s projecting now?

Did I mention Jalen Green? Why is he on your mind?

Do I have to remind you that you argued with me that Amen didn’t score from the dunker’s spot in last years’ playoffs despite video evidence he did?
