Pretty sure a lot of players are taught that it's fine to take a three on a fast break if you have someone in position for a rebound...and funnily enough, that's exactly what happened, he missed, KD got the rebound, and scored.

KD being pissy about not getting the ball, dude whined to f'n Steph Curry about getting more shots. Amazing player, but a ballhog.

On Gil's say both Kenyon and Rashad was saying the reason these doubles work is basically because KD doesn't want to get off the ball and is too worried about getting it back so he can score. Having KD play this PG role is a VERY large reason this offense doesn't work.

Exactly, it was a smart play, he had an open look from 3 and a 2 on 1 advantage to get the board if he missed.

KD not realizing that was the smart move isn't very surprising when you watch him attempt to handle the ball

 

If I don't see Reed starting and playing the PG position assertively I might just have to take a break from the Rockets-- and that'd be my first fandom break since the franchise moved from San Diego. It's hell to get old, as Marvin Zindler always used to say, and the frustration I feel watching this team ain't making the process any easier.

I 100% agree he needs to play to see what the guy can do, but his defense was pathetic last game. Pathetic is even a nice way to put it

 

So pathetic that in the 4 minutes he played with KD and Alpi the Rox outscored them 14-4........

So pathetic that while Reed was on the floor - and struggling - the Rox were a plus 1.

MAN, **** anyone that doesn't understand WINNING isn't about some made up numbers bullshit, it is literally are you beating the other team....PERIOD....and with Reed the answer is almost always YES.

I'm sick of hearing about defense. The Rockets are averaging 96 points in this series. THAT is why they're losing. This isn't the 1990s or early 2000s. You CANNOT win an NBA playoff series averaging in the mid-90s. Even without Luka and Austin, the Lakers are gonna be able to put up 100 points no matter what kind of defense you throw at them.

 

What happened in game 1 then?? the guy played plenty of minutes and it didn't look pretty.

Dont give me the KD didn't play, this team should beat that lakers team w/o durant. I'm not saying he shouldn't play more, he clearly can score and the rockets desperately need it. But in game 1 he had an absolute opportunity and didn't do ****

Are you mentally ill? KD didn't play, you don't think that makes a difference? At least in game 1 there weren't 9 turnovers by KD at the end of the game.

Do you realize that IME is the reason this team sucks, they have NO PLAN for the doubling of KD and Sengun at the top - NONE, it has been the same all year long - and Ime keeps on ****ING THAT SAME OLE CHICKEN.

TEAMS need all their players to win, especially teams as thin on shooting as this one.....

Everyone other than Tari sh-t the bed in Game 1. Yet only Reed was punished for it in Game 2. And Tari sh-t the bed in Game 2 and will in no way be punished tonight in Game 3 with a reduced role.

 

The only hope is that someone on the Rockets, probably Amen or Sengun tells IME to **** OFF - and go play their own way....this team needs to break from the grip of the idiot in the coaching seat right now.

Nah don't be silly, it's all about whichever made up "catch all" algorithm you believe in, it's not about the actual game.

 

Players can ignore what Ime tells them to do in the huddle(assuming he even draws up a play). I think Fred said on his podcast that the team routinely did that last season.

But they can't overrule him on who starts or gets subbed in. If Ime insists on putting 3 non-shooters on the floor simultaneously(as he did in Game 2), then I'm not sure what the players can do.

 

KD is all about KD.....can't wait for that loser to be gone.

They can go to the media - and force the orgs hand, they can call out how stupid IME is, and how bad he is at adjustments.

Hell Brown in Boston has all but said IME cost them a ring by playing drop coverage on Steph.

Yes the coaching absolutely sucks. But you also have to admin this team construction is hot garbage. The players just don’t fit together well. It’s not possible for everyone to play well, it’s like a seesaw, one player having a good game means the other one has to suck. Team construction is trash

 

Ime is in charge of whom Stone goes and gets.......Stone is a VERY WEAK GM....this is 100% an IME failure supported by Fertits.
