During 1 minute bursts for 10 minutes

but @MystikArkitect thinks we lose “becasue he thinks so” despite the team finishing the season addressing the Durant double etc by starting him and finishing 9-1 or w.e

it’s like taking hard evidence and going “BuT I fEeL thIS”

unironically it’s how this non merit hire coach acts. Not surprising all his fan boys keep absolving him of one of the greatest coaching travesties ever see ..

Reed wasn’t benched for missing shots… He was benched for passing up shots and generally being incapable of not picking his dribble.

So you only watched his first 2 minute stint. Got it.

Speaking of being loser… Who is resorting to personal insults and stalking because you are too ignorant to have an actual debate?

Just because you are weak minded and only see the world through extremes doesn’t mean the rest of us want to be weak.

    Go bake me a cake.

So you are saying you watched the game and didn’t see Reed passing up shots and picking up his dribble needlessly through his 11 minutes?

I can’t help it if you don’t know what you are watching out there

His initial stint is when he was picking the dribble up and passing shots up. That's literally 2 minutes. I also saw the other minutes where he was moving the ball well and the offense looked functional. Does your brain not process context or are you being purposely obtuse?

Didn’t the 2nd quarter run come with him on the court?

I actually like the guy. He plays hard all the time. But he's just very limited physically and skill-wise. A fringe NBA player that should only play in garbage time.

I understand... he is a talented player but not a playoff playable player in this series.

He was playing too hesitant all game, unlike game 1 where he got 35 minutes.

You seriously can't comprehend the difference in play that got him 35 minutes vs 11 minutes?

Reed knew KD would turn the ball over if he gave up the ball.

Reed's pattern through the season seems to be missing shot early but heating up later in the game. Benching him because of him missing shots early is not a good move.

It's not just shooting though. he somehow had some bad decisions on offense. He passed up shots. But he also took a pull up shot (and missed) at a semi-fast break situation when KD was also wide open. I think KD was mad about it.

I think he's too nervous out there. The total getting lost in that infamous sequence resulting in Smart's open 3 clearly rattled him. A lot of his defensive missed assignments was his being confused with switching and helping. These are mental things that can be fixed. What I observe is that the whole team defense is confused. Lots of miscommunications and mis-expectations with teammates. There is very little chemistry at both ends of the floor.

We had a few runs. I'm sure he was out there for both a run and when we were stuck in mud offensively and defensively. You can literally look at the substitution patterns : https://www.espn.com/nba/playbyplay/_/gameId/401869397

If you want to argue that Reed should have gotten more than 11 minutes, then I agree. However, Reed simply played much better overall in game 1 where he got a bunch of minutes. No doubt part of that was KD's absence and the needed shooting, but he earned more of those minutes in game 1.

This is the biggest issue for him in these playoffs. We all wish he was someone who would shine when the pressure is highest, but that hasn't been the case. Would it be different if Ime had been starting him all year and not benching him so quickly for defensive lapses? Maybe. Maybe not.

Why do you think Reed was benched for missing shots instead of the bolded? Players aren't benched for missing shots they should be taking.

Ime has done a pretty terrible job at preparing the team and making adjustments, but Reed is a sophomore who can get overwhelmed and overmatched physically. He had a bad game 2 even though I think he needed to be given a bit of a longer leash in the second half.

We still have a very young team, that makes young team mistakes.

As the biggest Reed fan here, if Ime doesn’t go I hope the kid gets traded. Next season he won’t play but garbage minutes when Fred gets back.

Yep, all of this is pretty common for players like Reed...inexperience.

It's too bad he's on a team that is trying to win a title because KD is on it otherwise he'd be able to learn these mistakes without much pressure.

+/- is a flawed stat and cant really say anything when he couldn't even make a shot. But I'm not focusing only on Reed. The entire team is a disjointed mess and no coach is going to fix this. Just not sure if no FVV/Adams/DFS is enough to keep Ime/Stone away from the firing squad.
