Reed was probably the worst player at Staples Center yesterday and that includes the dudes in the crowd that play pickup at Planet Fitness. People can blame Ime all they want (and they should) but Reed isn't ready and needs to seriously grow some balls because this league isnt going to get any easier. Luckily for him Sengun is a much bigger problem that not even a fusion of Red Auerbach, Phil Jackson and Bill Belichik could fix.

He was given the reins to run the offense in game 2 and he sucked..... it's really that simple. He played better and more confidentially in game 1 and got 35 minutes..... It's not rocket science.

Kennard is Reed Sheppard on the defensive end. How come the Lakers are able to live with him on the floor? They are basically the same - shooters who get bullied on defense. K just has a couple inches on Reed, that's the main difference. Is Ime a defensive "genius" or is he only a good coach when he has great defensive players on his squad? Because I'm starting to believe Ime isn't even good at defensive schemes - he's just good at threatening the players with being benched if they don't give 1000% effort on defense. But, that only gets you so far. You've held the lakers to 107 and 101, but we CANT SCORE.

Reed is a confidence and "flow" player. He got 3 minutes in the 1st Q and then back to the bench before the quarter was over, then 3 more minutes randomly towards the end of 2nd Q and 4 minutes in the second half. Those spurts are hard for a young, confidence based player. He had at least 5-6 nice corner skip passes and some other good set-ups, but only got 3 assists due to a lot of bricking of open shots.

But you need his firepower out there. We've seen him turn it on in 3rd and 4th quarters, and literally win this team games this year. Just because he is 0-3 or whatever doesn't mean he can't hit 3 in a row or 5 out of the next 8. We've been unable to break 100 yet, which is ridiculous in 2026. Maybe not in 1995. If Ime is such a mastermind defensively, funny that he can't figure out schemes to help protect Reed. Wonder what would have happened had Steph Curry come into the league with Ime. Guess he'd never have gotten a chance, since he's a defensive liability and small as well.

Reed is on a shorter leash than other guys because his deficiencies are on defense. One boneheaded defensive play and he's benched but when Tate or holiday muck up the offense they stay in. Ime just prioritizes defense over offense.

 

All these pro Udoka fan boys have more clues and in game evidence of how much of a failure their beloved sexual predator is and they keep digging deeper.
