no offensive system. No offensive system. no offensive system. Rockets looked uncomfortable inevey aspect of the offense Last night. I said during the season. The biggest offseason move In paying attention to is on the sidelines. I’m not saying to fire Ime. I’m saying if they dont address the issue of bringing in a real assistants to implement a real system instead of this bs read and react crap they keep doing then, I’m sell next season. Can’t just say we’ll be aight once FVV comes back. That’s just a lazy way to go about things.
Well you are drawing conclusions that people are saying get rid of players or fully blaming them. That’s not the case either.
Can we finally put to rest this ridiculous notion that we are a 32yr old Fred Van Vleet surgically repaired knee away from contending? Because that’s basically been the org’s message the entire season and it’s absurd.
There's absolutely NO DOUBT that whoever wrote that is lurking on here. Hi there! Introduce yourself....
There's only one explanation for the Rockets' total failure to get any shooting and/or ball-handling at the deadline. They kept all available ammo (picks & matching salaries) for this summer. A big move is coming and is needed. But do we trust Stone and Ime to make the right move?
Have to hope that there is a big move to be made and it's not Giannis. Needs to be someone younger ... that can shoot.
I dont want Giannis for a few reasons. But unfortunately, I can see us making that move. Would be nice if we could facilitate Giannis to Miami.
That’s false, I read a post with someone saying we didn’t draft any stars. Why you picking an argument with me? What’s bugging you about what I’m saying?
I also think Stone wanted a clear path for Reed to get minutes. Stone knew this team ultimately wasn't going to win a championship so he thought to himself why bother with adding another guard. Let's develop Reed and retool in the offseason. He did something similar during phase 1 when he told John Wall to go home so he could give all the minutes to KPJ and Green. The problem is that's very risky considering Reed is only in his second year and doesn't have much playoff experience. He should've gotten another veteran guard in the offseason and definitely before the trade deadline.
If you asked AI to write an article using Clutchfans content, this would be it. LOL. If Fertitta used AI to give him CF's consensus to make all his decisions for the Rockets, we'd be a great team. And Fertitta would have sold the team three years ago to a more competent owner. I'm serious.
"But this roster was seemingly constructed to force Udoka to play Sheppard." This was the one line that gave me pause. We've always wondered why the Rockets took Reed over Castle, who is basically a guy that Ime would grow in a lab if he could. I think Ime is going to get his Fred/Amen/KD/Giannis/Steven lineup whether it costs Sengun, Reed, 5 FRPs, Stone's job, or all of the above. I am convinced that Ime has Bill O'Brien-like power and he will likewise run his team into the ground. Like Bill, I think Ime is really good at walking & talking like a head coach, but doesn't have the goods to back it up. Also like Bill, I think this will be his last HC job in the pros - everyone will eventually see through him, but Fertittas will be the last to do so due to sunk cost fallacy.
The Reed thing appears to show the misalignment between the coach and the GM. It's never a good thing. If the GM has to construct the roster in a way to force the coach to play some players, he might as well fire the coach and get someone with aligned vision. The other option is just let the coach dominate and be the de facto GM. I have never liked the idea of merging the coaching and GMing jobs into one. Coaches are by nature shortsighted. They want to win now by default and do not look anything longer than a year or two. That's why the GM should be the boss. But if the GM is too weak to confront the coach's issues and has to take away the players of his favor and force him to play players he doesn't feel comfortable with, then it's a lose-lose situation.
Was saying this all last year. The Rockets cucking to Ime roster demands will run this team to the ground. Hopefully media speaks up a little more and Stone / Patrick realize they need to build the roster and make Ime just coach it. I think this is probably what’s gonna happen. I don’t see Stone / Patrick just sitting in the stands and not noticing Ime incompetence like the rest of us. I think Ime’s image & power took a dent this season. The whole not getting another guard could be the first f*ck you from Stone to play his guy Reed
